correct me if i'm wrong, but often its when your car is running rich. prob. cold?
  2. Who here has had a GenX Si for a short time, but has either traded or thinking of trading it in?

Got a 2017 Si sedan in July 2017, not long after it first released. $24k and change. Put about 25k on it, daily driving etc. Never did any mods and never raced it. Got tired of driving stick and wanted something comfy in an automatic. Traded it in last week and got $19k for it. Not bad. Got...
  3. Clicking noise when I turn my wheel

    Yup. This exactly.
  4. Farewell Civic Si Community....

Hard to tell. There's body roll on turns at speed - but I feel the vehicle turns pretty well if you ignore that. Not sure if it's the paws or something else. I am a bit concerned about reliability of the transmission, but I guess I have a warranty and of course money and credit if something...
  5. Is the more damage when stalling rather than normal wear?

Iirc It's discouraged in most state driving manuals because it takes you longer to actually take complete control on your vehicle again if you need it - going back in gear.
  6. Is the more damage when stalling rather than normal wear?

Engine braking - but the bigger reason to slow down in gear is if you need traction suddenly, you get it instantly by just gassing it. If you are in N you have to shift and get back I to gear and lose even more traction.
  7. Is the more damage when stalling rather than normal wear?

Slowing and braking to light - fifth to third at around 25mph, then at just before stop neutral.

I think I might just be too used to the stiffness of the si suspension and also the tires. Might just be a bit of perception wobble

You got me red handed Any input on that thread?

Friend of mine had an automatic one - 2004? he put about 200k on it everything original. It was the automatic, though. He sold it and got a CRV just last year. He loved it, but needed more room and wanted something new.
  11. Is the more damage when stalling rather than normal wear?

This is one of the easiest manuals to drive so it should be easy

I hear you. At the risk of offending the purists here, I'd say if Honda put the 8spd DCT in the Si, I'd have considered upgrading to that. Dunno, probably? I wouldn't bother with it though, it's not a performance car. It's not terrible, but it's a boat compared to the Si.

I briefly had a 2011 Dodge Journey Mainstreet w/the 3.6L pentastar V6. It wasn't actually bad for the price; interior build was much improved over the previous generation,u and it thewas comfortable and pretty quick. But, the engine was problematic - needed two new cylinder heads replaced under...

You've got "planned obsolescence" and then you've got FCA-level. Honda isn't that far gone yet.
  15. Farewell Civic Si Community....

Well for me, its not about speed at all. It's about not having to pay that 10-15% extra attention to driving that I can pay attention talking to the kids, etc.
  16. 2017 SI stock with 61,000 mi Engine Failure!

Personally - from a practical perspective, it may be cheaper to just pay the $500 and never go back there again. The amount of time fighting, emotional stress, rentals, inconvenience without a car waiting for resolution.....$500 is cheaper. It may not be "right" if they fucked you, but you may...

Manuals are better terms of control - but if you compare how fast this DCT shifts with my wife's 5spd auto on her k24 powered Accord, it's like night and day. We are talking like dial up vs broadband. There's a time and place for both, and for my personal choice I chose the easy one because...

Those are both better than the Hyundai H - which to me forever will be a wannabe Honda H
