  1. Rev Limiter Question

    I've experienced this also.
  2. Thinnest hood ever!

It's not marketing spin, it's the law. Why do you think the front end of all new cars is way too high up off the ground now? Because it looks good?
  3. Does anyone know how long 2018 deliveries will continue in the states?

I don't get this logic either. I'm a current owner and I hope they sell a gazillion Type R's into the United States. I bought mine to drive it, not to resell it, and the more of these that are around the cheaper and more available parts will be down the road. Guys - the only way you're going...
  4. 1st Oil Change - Possible Leak?

I changed the oil last night for the first time at 3,500 miles. Simple and straightforward. My question/observation for the group is this - I noticed a light oil residue on the oil pan. Specifically, on the passenger side of the oil pan, side and back. Clearly not due to oil leaking from the...
  5. Next Wave of U.S. Cars

Unless you are manually rev matching the old fashioned way, aren't you are putting more wear on your clutch by not using this feature (depending on your driving/shifting style of course)? I really enjoy the auto rev match feature, especially for daily driving. It does a better job than I (and...
  6. What is everyone's Monthly Payments? This should be fun!

I put down only $1k and the dealer would have let me put down $0. Why would the dealer care? They get paid whether you pay 100% cash or 100% finance (the finance company pays the dealer, and then the customer owes the finance company). Honestly, if anything, the dealer wants you to finance...
  7. PLEASE EVERY ONE Read!

If you have to ask then you don’t get it. Sorry guys I just don’t get anything from CivicX. To me, coming from S2KI, this forum is just a bunch of superficial nonsense. I rarely view any threads where I’m like wow this is interesting, or I’m really learning something here. Just a bunch of...
  8. PLEASE EVERY ONE Read!

I’m so sick of reading these petty little sad stories on this forum. Come on the rest of us - can’t we do better than this and make this site useful? Just strive to be a sliver of what S2KI offered us S2000 owners?
  9. Caked on Brake Dust

I second the use of the Speed Master Wheel Brush. Best brush I have ever used by far.
  10. Mishimoto's Type-R Direct Fit Catch Can R&D Thread

Riveting thread this has turned into with all these shipping updates. I can’t wait for today’s action - maybe everyone can post tracking updates? That would be exciting...
  11. Carwash and the Wing

I use self service car washes during the winter. Most have a no bucket wash policy. However, if you go later at night or off peak hours you can do a full bucket wash no problem and I've never been hassled by the attendant as long as their isn't a line up. I do this full wash procedure several...
  12. Front License Plate Mount

Before you drill into your bumper, why don't you consider just sticking the plate directly on the bumper with some 3M automotive tape? That's what I did and it looks great. Your choice, but I would much rather go the tape route than the drill a hole in the bumper route.
  13. Caring for "Carbon"

I applied two coats of Wolfgang sealant to mine and it turned out great. No residue or anything.
  14. What did you do to your Type R today?

    Broke the "beast" in...!
  15. 2018 Civic Type R: facts guide

I respect this response, but a big part of your argument as to why the Golf R is better is because it's quicker off the line ("fastest straight line car") in the segment. I could care less. The Type R could be 2 seconds slower 0-60 vs. the Golf R Automatic and I would still buy the Type R...
  16. 2018 Civic Type R: facts guide

The DSG (whatever that stands for...all I know is it's an automatic!) may very well be the "superior" transmission in that I have no doubt it's faster, smoother, whatever other attribute you want to attach to it. The problem for a lot of us is this - we ONLY drive manual transmissions. We...
  17. Navigation Map Question

Question for you guys and gals. Do any of you know if it's possible to clean up the navigation map screen by removing the "Ready to Navigate" bar, along with the lower bars for the direction and distance/time? These info bars eat into the map screen size too much for my liking. Thanks!
  18. Front License Plate Mount

I kept it simple. You take 3M super strong double sided adhesive. Put two strips the full length of the license plate, pretty close together. Mount that onto to front bumper. Simple, secure, reversible. Done.
  19. FS: Type R FK8 20" OEM Wheels and Tires - SOLD

Price drop to $2,750 for all 4. I will also sell individually for $750, but I want to have at least 2 sold before I sell individually. I drove the car home from the dealer, approx. 350 miles, and didn't drive it again until I put the new wheels on last weekend. So, wheels are as new and...
