  1. Anyone else struggle for traction in cold weather?

Tire Rack has the following note for this specific tires. If you live in the region where temp can drop below 20 degree F at night, you are taking a risk driving the car the following morning (within 24 hours). How valuable is your life? Is it worth taking the risk? Only you can determine...
  2. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

You should be able to buy a CTR at MSRP now. If you can't find one then you are either haven't tried hard enough or not willing to buy it from out of state. I started looking for a white CTR at MSRP in late June and had no luck. I was willing to buy it out of state so I used google map to...
  3. The low speed brake squeal issue

That was what my Honda sales man told me as well. It is a free "mandatory" option only available in the Civic Type R. You have to pay around $400 to remove this squeaking option. New break pads plus labor.
  4. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Not yet but I definitely want it. So far only PPF to protect stone chips. I am quite impressed with this M2 with just factory stocks. It is really an "Affordable" Ultimate Drama Driving Machine. I also plan to take the BMW performance driving lesson to get the maximum fun out of this M2.
  5. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

For sure you can get the M2 for a lot less. Long Beach Blue, rear wheel drive, 6 Speed MT, 365 HP, 0-60 4.5sec. 4 years/50K miles warranty, 3 years free maintenance. Intoxicating Exhaust noise and a long list of M2 features for $52,500 MSRP. I just bought one and it puts a smile on my face...
  6. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

First, I am a Honda (Acura) fan. I love Honda and have been driving Honda almost my entire life (Civic, Prelude, accord, Acura TL-TypeS, NSX). I would have purchased the CTR if dealers near me are willing to sell it to me at MSRP. All the dealers around my area wanted MSRP plus $11K of...
  7. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Before you pay 1 penny over MSRP for the CTR you should go test drive a BMW M240i or a M2. You can get the M240i at least $4000 below MSRP. I test drove all 3 cars, the Bimmers are faster, more luxurious, and fun to drive than the Type R. Besides the fun to drive part the M240i/M2 has better...
  8. Tested the Type-R in Sweden, my impressions!

I had similar driving impressions when I test drove it 2 months ago. The problem is the price in the U.S. market. With ADM from some dealers in CA, I can get a BMW M2. What is the Type R price in Sweden in US dollars?
  9. My poor Rawr :-(

I wonder if it would help reduce this type of accident if you put a big sign "BABY on Board" in the rear window.
  10. What is the proper break in procedures for 2017 Civic Type R?

If you are really serious about your Type R getting the proper "break-in", the first thing you need to do is making sure your type R never leaves the dealer's parking lot until you pick up your car. I was at a dealer when a new Type R arrived at the dealer on a truck. I was going to buy it so...
  11. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Definitely not good marketing. I blame those greedy Honda dealers. I don't get any discounts, no special treatment, and I have to wait in line just like everyone else. It is my hard earned money so I buy the M2 instead.
  12. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Funny you suggested the M2. I just bought a brand new 2018 M2 for the same price as the CTR from Big Star Honda. My M2 comes with real fiber carbon, power leather front seats, 365HP, 0-60 in 4.1 sec. rear wheel drive, and the exhaust noise sounds like an angry tiger. So my search for the CTR...
  13. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Sounds like they are willing to negotiate. I would ask for the wheels/tires insurance since they can easily get damage on roads with even minor pot holes.
  14. UK now have the typeR

Is it safe to park your new Type R in that neighborhood?
  15. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Congrats for finally having a beautiful Type R parked in your driveway. I was surprised you didn't kick the s2000 out of the garage and moved the Type R in. That shows you love the S2000 more than the Type R.
  16. Black CTR for MSRP

Very true. I just visited my friend in Montana. most of the vehicles I saw are domestic SUV and small trucks. I don't even recall seeing any new Honda during my 5 days stay. And $35K is a lot of money for most families in Montana.
  17. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

I am actually happy for you that the dealers wouldn't sell you the car at your offered prices. Even $4K ADM is not worth it as winter is only a few months away. Most of the dealers in the "winter" states probably do not want the CTR in their parking lot in October where temperatures can drop...
  18. Honda Civic Type-R Over sticker dealer naughty list.

Good point. My hope is that there will be multiple variants. An entry level (manual 6sp) around $50K to compete with its long time rival Nisan Z and a top of the line level (under $70K) competing with ??? Anything over $70K should carry the Lexus badge.
  19. CTR at (or below?!!) sticker NICE LIST!

Quite a few dealers in TN selling CTR at MSRP.
