  2. The Infamous 2nd Gear Crunch

Everything is OEM. I haven't heard about shifting problems with the 2020s.
  3. The Infamous 2nd Gear Crunch

Just drove it home from getting the trans replaced and all I can say is that it shifts better than it ever has, it never shifted this well when it was brand new. Also, since I park it in the winter and haven't been driving it because I've been working from home ... I forgot how much I love...
  4. The Infamous 2nd Gear Crunch

Fwiw - i've been driving manuals since before I got my license in the early 90's, and there's probably a video link in this thread somewhere of one of my drag runs in my AM car showing I can definitely shift a manual trans. I understand you are trying to help new manual drivers, but there have...
  5. The Infamous 2nd Gear Crunch

Fwiw - first wave ‘17 owner getting a new trans this week originally reported the issue in the first 1k miles, changed trans fluid, which didn’t fix it. Drove it that way for 20k miles by not hitting gears fast because I never had time to let it sit at Honda. Finally decided to just leave it...
  6. FK8 Master Spring Thread!

@Kami Speed do you have the swift springs in stock?
  7. Vtech or no Vtech???

Partially true. The 1.5T doesn't have VTEC. The 2.0L motors still do, but it's used differently than we're used to
  8. True 3" exhaust system for the Civic Type R (FK8)

I appreciate how you guys are open and honest with us as you develop for our platform. Thanks!
  9. True 3" exhaust system for the Civic Type R (FK8)

I prefer simple, clean setups. Either you like an exhaust or you don't, don't waffle and add complexity/cost with valves and gizmos.
  10. 10th gen Si FBO + Tune vs 8th/9th gen FBO + tune

It's easier to compare improvement from mph and weight than comparing different dynos on different days. 60' plays a big part in ET so it's hard to use ET as a gauge of power.
  11. 10th gen Si FBO + Tune vs 8th/9th gen FBO + tune

It's some maths involving cube roots and stuff if I remember right
  12. Phoenix Yellow 2020 Civic Type R facelift refresh model spotted testing at Nurburgring

Thanks for your input, I appreciate the time you took to clarify that for me.
  13. True 3" exhaust system for the Civic Type R (FK8)

Are you planning on doing a front pipe/down pipe option like you did with the Si?
  14. 10th gen Si FBO + Tune vs 8th/9th gen FBO + tune

Best way to know your power is to know your trap speed and weight
  15. True 3" exhaust system for the Civic Type R (FK8)

V-band connections would be awesome, especially if you decide to add a modular cat for race/street use.
  16. True 3" exhaust system for the Civic Type R (FK8)

I'm very pleased with your approach to the RMM, I look forward to seeing what you do here. I agree with others, it should retain the 3 tip design that is unique to the R.

The smaller wing R makes me think that the larger wing of the current R isn't really providing the downforce. That the smaller mid wing is the functional one.
  18. I went toe to toe with an sti earlier today on the highway, guess who won..

Apparently they can read a spec sheet, but not a parts diagram.

Please stop spreading this "detuned CTR motor" crap. It's not. This is one of the most prevalent [false] myths of the current generation of Hondas. Different rotating assembly, different turbo, different cams. Sure they share the same castings for the block, but they're not the same. I...
