  1. Turbo vs VTEC feel

Lol. We're not all driving like a bat out of hell in traffic. I drive fast but there is a time and place for that. For some people this is a nice upgrade in fuel efficiency. Updated suspension. Steering. Infotainment. Push button parking brake. LEDs. Heck even CVT for those so...
  2. Turbo vs VTEC feel

Was that the BMW that felt frantic in sport mode and tame when you out steering in comfort mode? I saw a review of a beemer recenrly, not sure which model or year, but the sport steering was madness. Btw, what part of Texas are you from? PM if you don't want it public.
  3. Considering buying my first Si...

Lol. Ford probe. Sorry. Had to. Sister owned one. Any gen So was a step up. And don't deny it. You're going to have a new toy. Enjoy it this weekend. Mix up the revs to break it in. What brand of tint are you getting? I got Llumar Ceramic. Damn that is some good tint. Are you...
  4. So about rev hang

OK. Thanks for the clarification. I was under impression that rev hang is/was revs basically stay or slowly drop. I'm assuming you're imyimg they drop more than I thought. Probably why I sucked so bad at rev matching in my SI's. I am getting much better with my GTI. I really haven't paid...
  5. Turbo vs VTEC feel

Hey ttrpg. One thing to consider though is the power available in NA engine. You still have accessible power when VTEC is not engaged. When you have a turbocharger it feels like your engine is severely underpowered then all of a sudden it's like OMG banner disappeared and Hulk is smashing it...
  6. So about rev hang

Highly doubt reviewers will focus on this for many reasons. It's becoming more common for emissions and because of the negativity it implies and you most reviewers don't want to go that deep because they have access to pre samples of a popular enthusiast vehicle. Honestly, for the most part...
  7. So about rev hang

Would you happen to know if rev hang helps with rev matching? Curious since I am not the greatest at it. I learned to drive stick buying a truck and having to drive it home. Actually only learned about rev matching about 5 years ago but was exclusively driving auto at the time. And only...
  8. Canada vs USA

You have to take the bumper off? Damn Honda. 9th gen was pretty easy.
  9. Canada vs USA

You should check to see if the horn can be swapped. I put an odyssey horn on my '14 SI. It was improved but still not manly.
  10. Space saver spare tire

Well had to assume it was "mod" thing or sensibly dampening. Otherwise just adding negative weight to a FWD car. Dampening the bare back does make a world of difference if you're so inclined. Otherwise it's just a wannabe I have type r bullshit added mod.
  11. Space saver spare tire

Better ways to do that. And for the ~$100 spent on a 2 door kit and a dynaliner kit you could the spare well and the doors and windows win win. Unless Honda used that stupid grease for the plastic liner in the doors again. That's why I never sound dampened my doors because the mess yo.
  12. Space saver spare tire

Why? Doesn't that take up space? If you want to dampen the sound from trunk area some dynamat extreme door kit and/or dynaliner will do a better job. Aside the seriously stupid mods some people and have to point out because their self esteem is so low I can see some people taking pictures...
  13. So about rev hang

Quite sure rev hang can be tuned out. Might want to ask vit what options he might have for tuning rev hang out and possibly keeping the stock tune to a very very mild tune to get better mpg. If hondata is still the same price that's what $700 to get rid of rev hang.
  14. 2017 Si Driving Impressions and review - Turbo lag?

Both the sedan and coupe kind of look like hulk smash then said just playing comparing to 9th gen.
  15. 2017 Si Driving Impressions and review - Turbo lag?

Traction control can't save stupidity and lack of driving skill.
  16. 2017 Si Driving Impressions and review - Turbo lag?

Agreed. Drivers are getting so complacent they're asking for features that dumb down the experience. Traction control got turned off in my SI all the time. Left it on in the rain though probably unnecessary.
  17. Canada vs USA

Because Americans are cheap and shop Walmart and Chinese stuff often. And often times Americans moan, whine and bitch about not getting stuff first. And when we do it's not as nice as other markets. Willing to bet Canadians are willing to pay a little extra for the niceties more often. Also...
  18. Tire decisions?

Oh yeah continental DWS06 have excellent grip wet, dry and cold. Lateral traction? Grip gets very vague and mushy so if you drive like grandma you can save a little money. If you like to have fun occasion pilot sport a/s3.
  19. Tire decisions?

TTRG and neoguri, unless you need to worry about snow or ice I think you're spot on with the tire choice of Michelin pilot sport A/S 3's. Very good all around tire. Pilot super sports start losing some traction around the <45° degree mark, don't get as high tread wear rating and possibly...
  20. 2017 Si Driving Impressions and review - Turbo lag?

Had to post. Manual transmission arguments will not go away. We the few represent the last of the enthusiasts (plus the enthusiasts with pockets deep enough to upgrade parts) if only to to get manufacturers to keep producing them. I am one of the few that admit they probably will go extinct...
