  1. Engine "sweating"?

Naaah, the oil was filled November last year. It was clean inside until last/this month. I observe oil levels every week so know what is going on under the hood.
  2. Engine "sweating"?

Should I be worried? Oil level seems fine.
  3. 1.5T 0W30 Thread

I certainly am, my friend. The car is running strong and no problems whatsoever. I am slowly thinking about stocking the new reformulation for my future oil change, however majority of stock in Europe is still the old stuff - not the reformulated SS.
  4. 1.5T 0W30 Thread

Anyone started using the new, September 2017 Amsoil SS reformulation (the ones with label saying 75% better protection)? Any feedback? I presume one will not be able to tell any difference in comparison to the previous version.
  5. 1.5T 0W30 Thread

Here is the extract from European manual. Notice how Honda points out that 0w-20 was formulated to increase fuel consumption... ;)
  6. 1.5T 0W30 Thread

Your random dude reads Honda's manual. It says, use Honda 0w-20 oil OR ACEA A3 OR ACEA A5. Guess what? I am not an Eco driver and refuse to use Honda 0w-20. I would use 0w-20 Amsoil or any other, but none of this oils is compliant with European ACEA standards and I don't want to have...
  7. 1.5T 0W30 Thread

In ideal world many things you wrote make sense but you are not taking into account: - oil dilution, - "heavy duty" use of the car Your W30 in the new civics will dilute to something around W20 quite fast, any way. 0w-20 - even less. Other than that, the rest may be valid for US market where...
  8. Motul 8100 eco-lite 0w20

Nonsense my friend, plenty of distributors in Europe: https://www.amsoil.com/international/distributor/ I buy from the distributor in Germany however the problem is, that they still don't have the latest reformulation from September last year...
  9. Poll: Your car's gender

I think mine is a "shemale". I treat the car as "her", but every gear change involves stroking her "stick"...
  10. Rough cold start...

Hi guys, I still have this issue every now and then. I changed station to a different location and brand. No one else having problems like this? Is this fuel related issue?
  11. 1.5T AMSOIL SS 0W20 UOA Thread

Anyone could help me out finding a US based Amsoil dealer willing to ship (for reasonable price) to Europe? It seems Signature Series European stock will be the old mixture for a while, until it is sold out and replenished with updated formula. I have a feeling that shipping costs will make...
  12. Map updates (non American models)

Hi all, I read there were 2018 map updates for US customers, but I don't see any updates for Europe. Any updates spotted in Europe, Asia, Australia? It is about time for those maps to be updated...
  13. 1.5T AMSOIL SS 0W20 UOA Thread

Thanks! Do you know where I can find the new fact sheet? I am wondering about changes in properties and would like to compare with the old fact sheet.
  14. 1.5T AMSOIL SS 0W20 UOA Thread

Thanks mate. I don’t think amsoil updated their signature series page with this info, nor I see the fact sheet updated with oil properties? Is the pancaking different? How do I recognize if the amsoil I am buying is the new formula or old one? I am interested in 0w-30 SS.
  15. 1.5T AMSOIL SS 0W20 UOA Thread

Hey mate, very interesting and informative read, thanks for that! Is the new Amsoil formulation released? I have not seen any notifications in their blog nor any update?
  16. 1.5T 6MT mpg?

Works out around 8 litres per 100 km with my driving style, 25% city rest highway with spirited driving.
  17. Oil Level Increase

Oil brand has nothing to do with oil dilution - if engine dilutes oil it will do that no matter what you poured in. Engine oil often gets diluted if one is driving like a pussy :p Other than that, fuel quality, short trips, engine lugging. Just saying... :)
  18. First oil Change

Seems that oil quality does not make any difference. Oil minder is tuned for the factory oil and it has no way of figuring out, that you poured full synthetic instead.
  19. reserve gas?

Damn you Americans and your cheap "25 bucks to fill her up" fuel... :P I had to pay 60 dollars to fill mine this Sunday :(
