Once the last coat has had time to cure you do two applications of the dip coat. It totally changes how the car feels. It's actually pretty return smooth to the touch now.

Mine is matte, with the pearls mixed into the last 2 color laters, no clear coat. So it's not 100% matte, it does have a tiny bit of shine.

I used the Dip Coat afterwards like recommended and I don't have any problems except with tree sap. That stuff is the devil.

Since I was going from silver to the white base, two coats was enough for a base coat. It might not have been enough on a black car, and the 1 gallon was barely enough for 2 coats. You'd need a second gallon for a more solid base for sure. As for Halo EFX, I'll probably stick to the DYC stuff...

Here's my car, including some in progress pics. This is one gallon of white for a base (2 coats) and 3 gallons of aqua with 2 bags of Tiff Blue pearls. It has a total of 5 coats on it. Honestly, the hardest part of the whole thing was masking and the roof!

Ok- an update. I'm keeping the splitter, amd got a 50% refund. It's already been processed and everything is done. All told, this was resolved about as well as anyone could. And since it was a mistake in sending a tester out, it shouldn't happen again. :)
