Do any of you guys get a lot of challenges from pick-up trucks?
I do & I find it so strange. I brake-checked one the other night. I was in the middle lane doing 65-70mph & he was tailgating so bad, all I could see in the rear view mirror was his chrome bumper. Lanes to either side of me were clear (6 lane freeway). He pulled over to the left & started yelling & gesturing. I flipped him off & walked him 3-4 car lengths to 100mph, slowed down & let him get a car length ahead, then walked him a few more until I got bored. He was so mad. Newish GMC something or other. Never happens when I'm in the Mercedes.

Personally, I would call the cops on them...in OH, they don't take too kindly to that crap...I haven't had any issues, but a dash cam is also nice to have too, so when they pass you, you get their plate number

Had to laugh tonight. Was coming home from dinner when a MkVII Golf R got right up on me as I was transitioning at an interchange. Being also a GTI owner, I know what it's capable of so I wasn't going to do anything stupid... But he's tailgating me even though there was traffic up front and I couldn't get out of his way.

Oh, also, I was in ECON mode but I decided to drop the gear into S and I approached the entrance ramp and found an opening to get out of the scrum. So I signaled, floored the accelerator and found open lanes to drive on. I looked down on my speedo and I'm going waaaay faster than I thought and when I looked back I could see the Golf R easily several car lengths back behind me.

He did the bro-move and as soon as he realized where I was he catches up (of course) and then proceeds to blasts past me even though I had already slowed back down to the limit. LOL.

Frankly, I was very surprised that even in ECON mode/S gear that the Civic had enough UMPH to scoot out of potential trouble.

All I could think of the encounter was that, "Yeah, there's no way I can keep up with the Golf R" but I'm sure I got his attention for a few seconds and best of all I was still getting around 36 mpg and there's no way he's going to get that kind of mileage and he's paying for premium fuel, too. Haha

LMAO the one time I've seen a Golf R out here I did a double-take. They're complete sleepers with just that tiny 'R' badge. 10 seconds after I passed it it clicked in my head that it wasn't a normal Golf. This guy was going 10 under the limit in the right lane though lol, its like the older (and wiser) gentlemen in the Corvettes that are doing under the limit on the highway. They know what it's capable of, and they garner respect simply because of that.

And yes, to earlier posters - I frequently have pickups tailgate the ever-loving hell out of me when I have nowhere to go. I promptly get out of their way when I can  and find solace in the fact that I'm getting 45ish MPG to their 13. Empty your wallets, rednecks...

I agree, dash cam is a good idea. I'll be putting in a Blackvue DR650S-1CH, along with an OEM autodimming rearview mirror & foglights before the end of the year, so I can get everything done all at once.

Last night I followed an Audi R8 V10... I was able to keep up with him all the time! Manual gearbox does miracles in these situations: keeping the engine around 4000 RPM gives you enough engine braking to stay behind a car with such powerful brakes with confidence and also still a lot of pull before redline to accelerate immediately after him. A lot of fun!

You haven't taken down a lambo in your Civic yet? Put in in L. That should do the trick.
I have, but it wasn't a UGR TT car. It was an LP Gallardo though, and I had him by about 4 cars on a 3rd-4th pull on low boost in my '98 DX.
