PLEASE PLEASE don't kill the messenger. I have a good reliable source. For now, just consider this Vaporware with a more robust aroma.

I was just told, that the 2017 Honda's will use a new/updated Infotainment like the current 2016. Including the updated HR-V will be using a more robust version of the 2016 - More RAM and a better processor and 4.1 BT.

PS, I AM PISSED and I will be fileing a non-stop complaint to Honda to have my radio replaced. I knew for some reasons, this first version was real cheesy, but I REFUSE TO BE THEIR BETA-TESTER.

ALL THE SOFTWARE UPDATES WILL NOT CHANGE THE CURRENT VERSION. IT WAS NEVER MADE TO DO SO MUCH AS THEY WANTED.

Yeah, I could not agree more. I am so disgusted that after buying the car that I had thought so well of for years, it is not what I thought. I don't know how the reviewers could fail to try out both the LX and EX, and mention the infotainment issues. It really makes me wonder what other troubles I will encounter. I was planning to keep this car for 10 years at least, but now can't wait until I pay enough down to trader it in, and it won't be for a Honda. If they would step up and replace/upgrade the systems they would redeem themselves, but it doesn't seem likely.

New cars get new technology? You don't say...

It's probably best once you buy a car to just stop reading news about the new model of that car, because you already bought yours and nothing about it is going to change. New models will always get something new over the old one, and the only thing reading about it will do is make you want the new one. If you were happy with your purchase when you bought it I see no reason why you shouldn't still be happy with it. Literally nothing about your car changes when a new one comes out.

Gotta agree with this one. It comes with the territory of buying a new car. Hoping for Honda to come along and replace/upgrade everybody's system is a pipe dream and it ain't gonna happen unless they deem it recall worthy.

Seriously?? You're going to complain that they ....get ready for this....upgraded components on the next model year from what you have? Say it is t so! I mean, how DARE Honda make upgrades and improvements.

You say you are a beta tester for them? Do you know what that even means? Please exp,Ian how buying a mass produced vehicle has you being a beta tester for them. Maybe you should wait to buy a car in....never as that is when they will be done upgrading? Do you complain to Apple when they upgrade their components?

PS I just pre-complained to Honda for the improvements they are going to make on the Civic on 2020 model year. I am pre-demanding they completely replace my entire 2016 car as I am not going to be some fool beta tester who buys the first year model and then they have the nerve to make improvements.

It's bait and switch by Honda!
It's all capitalism's fault!
There must be some Constituional Amendment forbidding such predatory behavior!
Isn't there a bail out for such issues?
Time for new illegal laws preventing such evil corporate behavior!
Oh the humanity!

I have been saying this from day one. Those that can afford to wait a year, wait. These cars get incrementally better after year 1 and again after mmr. If you like the body style and can afford to wait another 2 years.... WAIT.

EXACTLY! Don't buy the car and then demand and act like such a victim when updates are made.

People always blame everyone else for their own choices and behavior except themselves.

As if Honda FORCED them to buy the car against their will.

I bought the 2016 knowing full well there may be updates on the 2017. It was my choice to buy when I did. I'm not going to go cry to them like someone whose never left my moms basement if they made changes.

I can agree with you mostly, but there is a line that can be drawn on the final quality of a new car. This reminds me of when Saturn would release a new model, one TSB after another...this is a great inconvenience for a customer. I feel your right, but there has to be a line drawn on just plain bad QC before a model is released. This 10th gen civic, to me is the worst ever to be release, because it is the most sophisticated model ever...more QC PLEASE...would be need in my opinion.

Please explain this mythical line you are drawing (is it like obamas famous useless and unenforced 'red line' he gave to Iran?).

Please explain how you demanding a replacement radio will teach Honda a lesson regarding your choice to buy a new model car when you did.

Please explain what is an acceptable level of new model "issues" that Honda could have had on this new civic before crossing your 'line'.

I really am trying to understand your viewpoint.

Hey, your first line is scary for a poster with only 10 post...bringing some political genre in a car forum is lame...

It's not so much a viewpoint, as it is a sense of entitlement.

Hey! I paid good money for this so I should get next year's shit too!
Fuck that I knew what I was buying, and if I didn't, that's still Honda's fault!

I'd love to see the dealership's reaction when he barges in and demands they change the headunit.

And to those who call Honda corporate about shit like this, you're the reason why the majority of actual issues aren't taken seriously. You ever think about that?

Someone asking you to explain, and you saying "my post says it best" doesn't help. We've read your other posts in this thread and still don't understand your viewpoint that this is wrong/unacceptable. It doesn't make sense to be upset that they are improving a product.

I am in the midst of filing a lemon law complaint, so I really don't have any more comments. What I will say is that, if the original equipment or parts do not work, and will never work, I feel I am entitled to my money's worth 100%. No matter if it just a mild improvement, anything would be better than the current radio.
