1. I'd say more like the end of September/Early October. Just a guess.

2. I imagine the legroom in front is the same. Not sure about the rear.

3. I think Car and Driver estimates $1,000-$1,500 more per trim level for the hatch.

That's the part that I don't get. The hatch is being priced like a premium car but the LX and Sport are pretty bare bones feature-wise.

No problem.

Can't go wrong with the Touring sedan. I'm still not sure which way to go either. I'm torn between the Sedan, Coupe and Hatchback. It's making my head spin. ;)

Lol I hear ya. I sat in the dealership today for 90 minutes. Just sitting in the cars. People probably thought I was homeless... I didnt want to be helped. I really love the civic since it was first released. My wife took my 2010 honda crv exl and I got my mothers old 03 civic. Now its my turn for a new car. I need some thing good on gas. Roomy enough for 2 adults and a 6&11 year old. I looked at the new CRV 28ish.with.leather and nav. A little more then I wanted to spend. Looked at the HRV a little too dated already... alot of features missing plus why on earth would honda cover the hole door in leather.. Looked at the accord.. love the sport but missing a few items that I want like push.button start, aa and cp, electronic parking brake..

My wife wants to kill me. She says just go buy a car. Then I get the look of death when I say its a big deal picking the right car....

Guys, don't be so sure the hatch will be that much quicker. Hatches are generally known to be heavier than sedans even though they are shorter. Also, the power increase in the Sport models may be offset a little by the huge 18" wheel 235/40 tire combo. That's a lot of unsprung weight.

Power is increased by only 6 HP, torque increase however is 15 ft. lbs. The touring has the same sized tires, and there are videos showing 0-60 times for it (Touring), as low as 6.7 seconds.

I'm not sure if you read my post. Others have wondered if the Sport will be faster than the sedan or coupe (6.6 sec). I'm saying don't be surprised if it isn't.

Same boat as you, but not in as much of a hurry. Touring sedan will be a much better value for a while as I don't see there being a good supply of hatchbacks until the new year. IMO you will pay a ~$3000 premium for the Touring hatch unless they are a slow seller.

Damn, ya'll posting about Honda Magic Seats reminded me of when I had a version of them in my CR-V. Now I wished I had them in my sedan... *sigh*
Haha I know what you ,ean. they really are a treat, and adaptable for anything.

Meaning ~$3000 premium for 2017 Sport Touring hatch vs. 2016 Touring Sedan

For anyone that is wondering, I was just able to order a hatch. I ordered the sport touring in the new grey color. The Honda rep was at my dealership so he was able to show me all of the details for each trim level.

I could have ordered a 2017 sedan and it would be delivered in October. For the hatch, he said he can't actually put in the order until next month. I'm guessing not until it officially debuts at whatever car show is next month? From there it should be delivered by November - December. The delivery dates were just guesses at this point. I'm hoping it comes a little sooner.

Any chance you can share more info about the various trim level details that he showed you?
