The 2016 Honda Civic has been shown off at the Geneva Motor Show and the specs have been revealed along with the price tag.

The Honda Civic Type R will have the 2 litre VTEC petrol engine and this offers up 306 horses along with 400 Nm of torque. The engine also comes with 6 speed manual transmission and it takes just 5.7 seconds to reach 62mph.

The price tag for the 2016 Honda Civic Type R comes in at £29, 995 and this is the entry level model. The conversion comes in at about $46k.

The 2016 Honda Civic Type R does happen to be a superb vehicle and it should go down well when it comes to the US. However $46k could be too much money for the vehicle.

There's no way the CTR will be $46k unless there's dealer mark up. The Focus RS starts at roughly $36k with awd and more power. Now for Honda enthusiasts, the awd and power difference will not matter, but for majority of casual buyers, at $46k there are other options just as capable out there.

LOL the above site is a type of "news aggregation" site using key words/algorithms. It was posted as satire (hopefully). ;)

That image is a photochop from CivicX, IIRC.

Hmm, interesting. That puts the new Type-R at about the same price (within a few hundred £) of a new VW GTI (not the "R", just a regular 5-door GTI with DSG+PP).

GTI starting price UK = 26,935
GTI starting price US = 25,595

CTR starting price UK = 29,935

My Guess is the car will be between $28-30K to start, currency conversion doesn't really translate for anything except for commodities (oil, gold, cash)

Look at this XBOX same bundle same numerical value regardless of the conversion, cars a usually priced the same way. It really comes down to the market also, CTR in MEXICO would cost around 60,000

On another note GTI in Mexico Cost 424,700 that's 25,600 USD

I am anticipating 8-10k more than the Si model, which is respectable. I paid $22k for my 2014 Si.
