So I'm cruisin down the road jammin out to some tunes and some douche cuts in front me so I hit the brakes so not to crash into him and the volume automatically decreases by half for a couple of seconds
is this normal or am I old and deaf?
My coworker said his 2013 Accord decreases volume when slowing down. I said I don't think my car does that and he said it probably does.

Never noticed it happen even during sudden braking soooooooo idk

per p210 of the owners manual Speed-sensitive Volume Compensation (SVC) is part of the Civic package. You can adjust it to your liking or turn it off.

I didn't know it did that. I looked in the menus and found the sensitivity adjustment. I turned it up a notch. I like the radio down lower when I am at a stop. Very handy and works great.

I love it personally, but what I don't like is the effect it has on your ears. I drive with my windows down a lot so it helps greatly, but it just sounds lower. When I first get in my car for the day 18 sounds like 21. However, after driving 18 with the sound compensation 18 sounds like 12. I have really damaged ears though and I'm always worried I'm going to go deaf so don't mind me haha.

Correct!

A lot of the Hondas have it nowadays!

As you increase your speed, it increases your volume level, and as you decrease your speed, it decreases your volume level!

You do have 3 levels of sensitivity that you can set it to, or turn it off!
