Renders of the dashboard:

Looks a million times better than the 2 tier design. Nice, subtle, restrained styling, not trying too hard too shock anyone or set any dead end trends. Kudos Honda!

I missed this post earlier. Are these patent images? If not, how did the artist manage to render this up?

The general consensus is that these are in fact patent images. Even if they aren't, i'd say they're probably about 95% spot on anyway. The reason i'd say they are patent images is the lack of color, gauges, vents, etc. If someone was mocking these up they probably would've added those.

Thanks! Gives me an even better impression than the spy pics showed. Looks sporty and driver-centric.

I'm partial to the 2 tier design. That's one thing I miss driving a STI now. I loved being able to just glance down and get a read on my speed and have a monstrous tach.

The type R has the two tier doesn't it? That's good news. I'l reserve my final comments/judgement once I see the finished product.

My opinion is that the two-tier design looked dorky, but functioned well. The new one looks like a more traditional dash. Still I hope that the car retains a digital speedo. It means keeping your eyes on the road and always having an accurate speed readout. Funny how I make a comment about keeping my eyes on the road, given my photo.

I find it very odd that we want the latest and greatest in technology, and yet some of us still yearn for something as antiquated as an analog speedometer (or wrist watch). Digital Speedo rules!

Exactly 10thG. I'm all for allowing the user to switch between digital needles and digital numbers.

What about a combination -- digital needles? Anyone a fan of that?
That would be fine with me as long as the transition is super smooth! I really want to be able to see rate of change without having to guess to the nearest mph in my head. If it just comes with digital numbers I'll be paying a performance shop to add an analog speedo on the dash assuming the rest of the car is so great that I have to buy!
