Yeh, I like this explanation ... pretty easy to understand what we've always understood anyway, I guess.Thanks @Quicksipper! I was literally going to post this video the other day! He does a good job explaining why the CVT is actually pretty good! And also explains why it's fastest to drive the car in L because it doesn't do any fake shifting which slows you down! Agree that CVT could be engineered to more applications/priorities than just increased fuel economy.
Hey, saw your other youtube videos. Sorry you're having screen and start up troubles. Just passed 15000 miles myself and notice a noise on start up every so often. Biggest annoyance right now is a rattle that's developed in the dash piece that shields the instrument panel from sunlight. Definitely been enjoying the 41 - 45mpg tank averages this summer.
