Thanks @Quicksipper! I was literally going to post this video the other day! He does a good job explaining why the CVT is actually pretty good! And also explains why it's fastest to drive the car in L because it doesn't do any fake shifting which slows you down! Check this video out @87Si89Base16EXT
Yeh, I like this explanation ... pretty easy to understand what we've always understood anyway, I guess.

Agree that CVT could be engineered to more applications/priorities than just increased fuel economy.

Hey, saw your other youtube videos. Sorry you're having screen and start up troubles. Just passed 15000 miles myself and notice a noise on start up every so often. Biggest annoyance right now is a rattle that's developed in the dash piece that shields the instrument panel from sunlight. Definitely been enjoying the 41 - 45mpg tank averages this summer.

Don't have the startup grind. I would have to drive his car to see how jerky the tranny is. Compared to a buttery-smooth auto, it is a little rough at times, with lots of hesitation. You can adapt to it, but a lot of people just say they shouldn't have to...

And for what it's worth, I like the Corolla, except for the dash, and the lack of power... Would have bought a Camry XSE if the wife hadn't hated it.

Winner.

Chopping the base price in half still nets a couple gems, including this one:
Yep, the new Miata is in a whole other class from the Civic (any version or trim) in terms of sportiness/sexiness, in a similar price range. Especially in red, damn that Mazda Soul Red is gorgeous.

And I don't know what the MX-5 RF is going to cost, but wow. That's a crazy cool car that will likely still be under $35K fully loaded.

Also, I still prefer the look of the Mazda 3 hatchback over the Civic hatchback.

That said, the new Civic is a sharp looking car for sure.

I think it can hold its own right beside a real exotic car.

But the Lambo cannot hold 5 people comfortably, cannot carry a trunk full of beers and groceries and instead of 40 miles per gallon it takes 40 gallons per mile. Our Civic wins hands down. :D:D:D

And you can't get the Civic in that, frankly, alarming shade of pink. Plus you can buy a new Civic for less than what it takes to change a Lambo's clutch. Civic FTW.

Can confirm: It can also do a beer run and net 40 MPG :headbang: win-win!

I did my research and looked at several cars before choosing the civic touring it has the best looks and most of the best features for the money. The only other car I was considering was the Subaru BRZ. As much as I would have loved a coupe it just wasn't practical. I'm happy with my choice.

As far problems people are experiencing with their cars I haven't had any problems with the Jerkiness or grinding or rattling (with the exception of the subwoofer but that's only at loud volume. I typically don't jack the bass up) I havent had it too long not put the miles on so I hope I don't experience any of that.
