Will there be a 0% APR period? Any factory incentives for Labor Day?

Thinking about trading in my escape for a 2016 EX.

I have pretty good credit at 780.

Are 0% APRs only offered as Factory Incentives? Or can dealers offer them?

Do you guys think there will be any labor day sales/factory incentives in September?

I've never seen Honda ever do 0% APR. I've seen them do .9% pretty frequently, but never 0%. But I may have just not been paying attention when they offered it.

^Me too. Definitely not 0%. Has there been .9% on the Civic in recent times? I know it just showed up this year for the Accord, ending in September. That's for up to a 36-month term. Then it goes to 1.9%. I ended up getting that for my 2016 Civic LX...fortunately the dealer matched the competitive financing deal that my credit union could offer me. I have a credit score over 850 :)

In the US, if the dealer matched or beats your rate, chances it's with another bank and not Honda Financial Services. HFS NEVER does 0% and they do 0.9 on insanely short terms like 24 months.

I'd take it for 24 months, that's not insanely short for me. I'm curious, too, as I'd like to pick up a 2016 with a good deal before they are gone, but I don't really like paying 2.7% or so on my loan. Not that it's a huge amount, but it's just not as sweet as a deal. The question is, come Sept 1, what are the odds that they might offer some good financing rate on the 2016 Civics? I unfortunately haven't tracked their incentives history and can't find a website that does...

They'll do 1.99 on 36 to 48 months I believe and 2.99 and higher for longer terms. Don't count on Honda discounting finance rates or cash rebate even at the end of the year for this model. This car sold when it came out, it sells now, and it'll sell later regardless. Chances are you'll run into problems finding the colour combo you want later. It's not like dealers have 50 of these like CR-V where Honda is willing to give a $3000 rebate before the 17's come out.

You'll get 0 if you do the 0.9 option combines with a royalty rebate by previously financing or leasing a Honda.

Could have been. However, my parents did get 0% on their 2010 Accord through HFS. It's been a while, that's for sure
Yeah, they got 0% with a loyalty rate reduction

I got 0.9 due to HFS Honda Grad program during the July 4th weekend. 0% financing is something that Nissan or Toyota does but not Honda.

I got the 0.9% Memorial Day for Vets/College Grads for 60 months.

I am an Air Force vet so I jumped on the deal. It wasn't available for vets for July 4th, just recent college grads

Dealer near me did too, but had to pay msrp for the car, no discounts... I got 2.39% thru a credit union, so not bad.... I did get 1.9% back in Feb thru HFS for our Crv

True and false (though mostly true).

The dealership I bought from advertised 0% financing offer about a month and a half ago on their website, which is what enticed me to buy now as opposed to closer to the end of the year as I had intended. The disclaimer text specifically said that the financing was through Honda Financial, for the "Summer of Sizzle" or something like that.

However, there were some hiccups. In particular, after we had come to an agreement on the price after a lengthy process, and were waiting for the finance department to take over, I was informed that the 0% financing only applied if I were paying full list price for the car (in other words, it was an either/or thing... the negotiated price on the car, or the 0% financing), and that the finance period was 36 months instead of the 60 months I was expecting. This was contrary to the disclaimer text that was on the website, illustrating a 60 month term (gives an example of $16.67 for every $1000 financed) and makes no mention of the 0% only being available in lieu of a discount, just that it only applies to well-qualified buyers, must take delivery from dealer stock, etc.

Eventually it was agreed that the financing would be 0%, but for 36 months, and it was very much a “we’re making a special exception for you” kind of thing. In the paperwork room, the finance guy made it very clear that this was an unusual situation... "you'll have to forgive me, as I've never done a buy-down all the way to zero percent, so I need to figure out the procedure on how to do it." The financing ended up NOT being through Honda Financial, but rather Bank of America. Not sure what to make of that, but 0% is 0%, so I don't really care who the check is made out to every month.

That said, their site currently shows similar offers for the CRV and Odyssey, still saying financing is through Honda Financial. But perhaps this is just the result of a lazy graphics guy doing a copy/paste of a standard disclaimer.

Okay, so I think that we've established that HFS DOESN'T do 0%. If the dealership has to charge you full MSRP to get 0%, they could spin it so they actually pay a cost of borrowing while they give you a discount.

To be honest, once you've done your research, you'll realize that Honda will do a low rate for short terms, higher rate for longer terms, 0% available through loyalty at a discounted 0.99%, and that the brand couldn't possibly be caught dead doing a true 0% at 60 months lol
