I got a white orchid pearl with black interior EX model from Superstition Honda in Mesa for 21,250, out the door. It did not come with any dealer add-ons or anything. I probably could've bargained down more, but I was set on my color combination and they had the only one available in Arizona. Kinda killed my leverage.

I did end up purchasing an 8 year, 120k HondaCare warranty after my purchase for $1,025.

Wow! That's a good price. Where did you get the Honda Care Warranty? The dealer or soemwhere else?

Thank you! It was really painless, I did 80% of the negotiating on the web.

As for the warranty, I got the HondaCare warranty from Hyannis Honda in Massachusetts. You can request a quote on their website, they send it to you, you call them, and close it. Superstition offered me $2,200 for a 7 year, 100,000 mile warranty which they called their "Asian Family Deal" (I'm Asian, guy I was working with was Asian).

I showed them my Hyannis offer during the final signing, and Superstition went CRAZY. I was honestly impressed with how mad they were and how many lies they spilled. They even brought out a court case from ten years ago, and lied about the material and outcome to try and defame Hyannis. They would not match the deal, and basically customer service went to hell after I did this at Superstition. Basically, I am saying do this at the last moment, otherwise they might try and screw you over.

I ended up buying it from Hyannis anyway, and could not be happier. I got my card within two-weeks, and have full Honda Care Coverage for less money and more time/miles. They kept telling me that it was a third-party warranty and there was "NO DAMN WAY" they could've offered me legitimate HondaCare at this price. Well, I just got my booklet from Honda Corporate last week, so....thanks Superstition.

Because of this forum, I saved a lot on my 8 yr, 100k $0 deductible ext warranty. One question I have is that I bought my Honda Civic in January and bought my extended warranty just a couple of days ago. Shouldn't my extended warranty expire 8 years from when I bought it? The warranty's expiration date was calculated off my Honda Civic purchase date in January. So I essentially lost 5 months. Can someone confirm if the warranty expiration date should be calculated from Car Purchase Date or Warranty Purchase Date. Thanks everyone!

Apparently it only extends the regular factory warranty out until the 8 years, 100k miles (instead of 3 years, 36k). So it is from the day you purchased the vehicle, not the purchase date of the VSC, that's my understanding at least.

It would help if you specified what trim of Civic are you looking at (if you are still shopping)

I negotiated mine at 28k flat OTD back in Jan when supply was still tight. That was for a Touring Sedan with included Tint.

If I were you, I'd avoid getting all the extended warranty and other dealer add ons (aka dealer installed options) from the dealer. That is where they get you.

I have never had need for extended warranty on any of the vehicles I owned (Avg ownership time: 5-6 years) and these cars from Honda and Toyota are built rock solid you won't need it for 100K miles for which most of these extended warranties go. If something does pop up after 5 or 6 years, the money you pay for extended warranty will pay for fixing it, whatever that might be.
