ECON always on. Picture is my new 45.3 mpg record from a recent trip - 70/75 mph on the interstate, AC on, 2 people with luggage, hilly with a mountain pass along the way. Touring 1.5 with surge software upgrade.

I'm not even at 1000 miles yet, but holding steady combined at about 38mpg. That's with some playing with it once broken in, and in normal drive mode.

In south Florida I can get 47.8 mpg with cruise set @ 70 mph and a.c. set to 72. I travel 140 miles round trip. 70 mph one way in the morning and 70 miles back in the late afternoon. In the late afternoon I average about 43-46 mpg. I get a few more mpg in the am probably because it's cooler in the morning

Thats really great. I have a 150 mile round trip everyday and AVG 42-43MPG . I hit about 10-15 miles of bumper to bumper everyday on the way home that knocks my MPG down. Still happy with it.

That's really good! I was gonna get a prius due to my long drive time but I couldn't justify the price and mpg for it and potential for battery problems.... maybe I'm too picky and preferred the sportier looks of the civic exl trim! :)

I had a 2011 Prius that averaged 47 MPG. I really liked it but already had over 200,000 miles on it and wanted something new with the new safety features. I looked at the new Prius and Volt but both cost allot more that my new Touring. The Prius i wanted was $5000 more than my Civic. The difference in MPG isn't that much and it looks allot better.

I had a 2005 Prius, and on the highway this Civic bests it for MPG. The 3rd gen was only very slightly better and probably about equal to the Civic. The new Prius is insane though with direct injection, lighter weight, better batteries, and vastly improved aerodynamics it blows away the Civic and previous Prii. That said I went out shopping for one and couldn't bite the bullet on such a boring car with a horrible interior. The Civic is much nicer in every way and way cheaper to buy. If my commute was city the decision would have went the other way.

Here is a good days commute for me.

Recent trip, traffic was "flying low" as they say. With the ECON on and a more sedate pace of 70-75, I got 45mpg.

At the dealer the other day there was a 2015 Civic Hybrid. Sticker estimated 45mpg average.

Okay, those numbers are downright CRAY. Congrats on the ridiculously high gas mileage numbers!

I recently took my first road trip in my EX-T--280 miles total. Gas mileage on the trip down was 43 mpg on hilly terrain on variable speed roads between 35-55 mph (my speed was between 40-60 for most), and about 30 miles of 70 mph on the highway. Same route on the way back netted me 44.5 mpg.

I've noticed good gas mileage is strongly contingent on how you accelerate. Keep it around 2,000 rpm on acceleration, your gas mileage goes up. I only have a 2 mile commute to work in the morning, and I can easily make the 31 mpg city average if I don't stomp it when the light turns green. Usually, this is with the AC on 60. Of course, then there goes the enjoyment factor of outrunning most of the people at said stoplight...

2 mile commutes will kill your mpg numbers, but you are using way less fuel than me. You can see that my Fuelly is much lower than those numbers. The low numbers carry heavier weight than high ones, and I have logged 500 out of almost 1700 miles doing Uber, and another 140 were dealer miles. Still I am averaging about 39mpg on my Uber trips, but more like 35 if you take away the trip to and from home, which I count for tax purposes. 35 all over town with the A/C blasting, plenty of idling, and rushing to pick ups is damned good. All over town is not all city though, lots is on the highway. This is worst case mixed driving for me. I got 59.3 on the way to work today. If I cut out the Ubering I'd be seeing whole tanks in the mid-low 50's. I have an ideal commute though, country roads and highways with 55mph limits.

I typically get around 50mpg on my trips. My record trip was 60.8 for a 75.6 mile trip home from Disney, mixed Highway/City but at night to almost no traffic. My lifetime mileage is at 42 mpg (I never reset the B trip meter, which is a good way to do lifetime). It would be higher but I use remote start for AC a lot for FL weather haha.

If you want to get good mileage, check out cleanmpg.com, or on facebook, https://www.facebook.com/groups/160652140622334/. Wayne Gerdes is a great resource (if you don't know who he is, google him). He highly recommends the 1.5T, which is the reason why I got it. He got 72mpg in the 1.5T coupe on a 93.7 mile trip (ofcourse we all know it's hard to replicate Wayne haha)

Something is going on with mine in the last 2 weeks, I have not changed my driving habits at all, and suddenly its all I can do to break 30mpg, anyone else noticing this?
