I really enjoyed the negoiating aspect of it. great rate that you received...i got 1.99% and thought that was a steal. 40% down is a lot though, i went with 6k down (about 20%) for more liquidity. i did find out that the sales people at my dealership have monthly quotas, instead of quarterly.I got very similar deal as The Moy did in the comment above. This week in Los Angeles the OTD price I paid was 26,100 for EX-L with Honda Sensing at 0% financing for 60 months. But I had to put 40% down to get that 0.0% finance rate. There were no add ons except for the required California taxes and fees which are in that OTD price. I did get several internet quotes and bring them to dealer I bought from. I knew my credit was good going in and knew I could put down as little or as much as I wanted. I knew putting 40% down would also eliminate the need for gap coverage. I was also totally willing to walk a way and try another dealer up to the last moment. I figure I could have started to play dealers against each other and saved another $300-500 but I do think dealers are providing a service to sell a car (they have business and employee expenses) and I did not want to spend days going from dealer to dealer haggling over a few hundred dollars. So I feel I got a fair deal with that OTD price at 0% for 60 months. And the dealer seemed happy I was a serious straight shooting buyer. I told them I was serious at buying this week, willing to walk a way and wasn't going to play back and forth games for days. The particular sales person, managers and finance person I had were all personable, knowledgeable about their products and NOT high pressure. And I have no idea if they were this low pressure with me because I was a knowledgable buyer with good credit or if everyone at this dealership is pleasant. I can only vouch for the employees who helped me. I think it helped I came in at the end of the month right before a big buying holiday. I could tell they were getting ready to get slammed with business this weekend.
Glad you posted this, taking in both our posts if feels like we got basically the same deal over all Congrats on the new car!I really enjoyed the negoiating aspect of it. great rate that you received...i got 1.99% and thought that was a steal. 40% down is a lot though, i went with 6k down (about 20%) for more liquidity. i did find out that the sales people at my dealership have monthly quotas, instead of quarterly.
Im hoping to buy my EX L this week in Southern California...OC/LA/Ventura...WOP EX-L with Sensing/Ivory from Norm Reeves Cerritos for 25,083 OTD. No add-on. I pay 299 a month with 0.9 financing through HFS. 7k down + 500 college grad rebate (30% down).
I bought about two weeks ago in Los Angeles. What helped me was showing dealers other internet quotes from other dealers. So if you have not I would email dealers and get internet quotes first. Even though I already bought several dealers are still regularly emailing me trying to get me to buy. These dealers are Norm Reeves, Robertson and DCH. I happened to buy at Galpin because they gave me 0% financing because of my good credit. So even though they were not the cheapest sales OTD price with the 0% financing they were a decent deal. I probably could have gotten a better OTD price from another dealer but I didn't want to have to go from dealer to dealer and haggle over price and finance rate over and over. I've noticed it seems best to get internet quotes then contact a few dealers by phone to see if they can beat them and then give the dealers several days to worry you might buy someplace else. And it helps to know who you want to finance the auto loan with and if your credit is good and how much you are putting down. I presented the dealer with an email from my personal bank saying they would fund an auto loan at .9%, so the dealer had to beat that. If a buyer does not have good credit they basically will have a harder time negotiating a decent auto loan interest rate and I would try to find the dealer with the lowest price at that point to make up for the potential higher interest rate costs on the loan. Hope this helps.Im hoping to buy my EX L this week in Southern California...OC/LA/Ventura...
Kyra Morgan got such a great deal on the EX T....anybody have an idea for a great deal on EX L...lowest tru car is 21,500 plus tax and license
(EX L with no sensing)
I still think this is the best price I have ever seen. Really 2016 EX-T Cosmo Blue $20,471.16 OTD? No trade in, no anything else in the equation? Maybe that was after the trade in. If not, that puts it somewhere around $18,875 before taxes etc. I have multiple quotes and truecar prices from $20,904up to $21,669 that's not out the door.Yup, it was out the door pricing. I was going to work with RSM Honda since they are the local Costco dealer but they kept adding accessories to make up for the Costco discount. Norm Reeves actually came in way below Costco price. I worked with Cooper Mugg (internet sales) I was in and out in less than 90 min.
You got a good deal, congratulations on the new ride!Just bought my EX L white last night from DCH Honda Oxnard. OTD price was $23,711.60. (That included the protection accessories: mud flaps, wheel locks, and trunk tray.). No trade-in, financed though my own credit union. If any So Cal person wants breakdown of costs...let me know....glad to help!
I would like to thank everybody on this forum! The support was amazing! Thank you ALL!
