This is exactly what I wanted ever since I saw that concept. hopefully the front lights are the same too. I'm just being picky but I would love them to update the dash a little bit more. I'd prefer to see 60 FPS and HD/4Kquality on the driver cockpit screen and infotainment system and similar interior lighting that they have in the Audi A4 2017.

Honda Si fans Rejoice! This is the news I've been waiting for. I just went crazy over this news! I can't wait to get my SI when this arrives on the showroom floors (although i'll be going for the sedan model). I can't wait to see it with its signature wing and near finish project, I'm glad honda is sticking to their roots and keeping the SI manual. :):):):) To the negative nancys in this thread talking crap and saying the SI is not a sports car, newflash! Not everyone wants to get the type R or can afford one. The type R is a completely different class of a vehicle and is meant for something else. The Si is for enthusiast that want a sport car but it still affordable and practical. The type R will probably be more track oriented, two different purposes.

It lives. Finally.

I've gotten so sick of waiting I almost bought a 228i today. Beautiful car. Fell in love with it. Then I researched the 'run flat' tires that BMW puts on their cars. There's nothing good about them, and you can't easily replace them with normal tires. Google for the details. Breaks my heart.

So the timing was very good to finally see these Si pics today. Surely this means we'll hear something soon about what's under the hood. That's all I'm waiting for.

If the Si gets the 2.0 turbo with around 230HP, we can expect aftermarket chip tuners to easily bump it up into the 280HP/300TQ range. That's in a car that weighs under 3000lbs.

It will be a screamer.

Coming to lease end on my 2013 Civic Si and I've been so close to pulling the trigger on a few different vehicles...BMW X1, Accord Touring, Civic Touring...all have gotten some heavy consideration. Just this morning was chatting with a dealer explaining to him my reasoning for merely buying out my car rather than trading it in on a Civic Touring. Told him I was waiting for the Si. In true sales speak he stated that he wasn't expecting the Si or CTR for at least two years. Ok, pal :rolleyes1:

So, very happy to see the first glimpses of a real Si out in the wild. Disappointed with the apparent lack of LED headlights, could it at least have xenon's?

Everyone is wondering about pricing. I suspect the Si will get a considerable price hike over the 2015. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at Touring-level pricing, giving people a straight choice between semi-luxury and sport/performance. Even at the same price, I don't think the Touring would have enough to justify an equivalent price tag. If you were a regular everyday customer why you choose the Touring? Leather, automatic, better gas mileage? I can't see them leaving Sensing off the Si and by most accounts it wouldn't be such a great loss anyway. Obviously like most here I'm biased more towards performance than luxury but the Si at the same price is a no-brainer. Even without LED's. Hopefully it's still an option.

If the CTR is below 35k that may be my #1 choice come 2017. Of course, according to some here it seems that the very existence of this changes the Si to a non-sporty vehicle. To me it doesn't change a thing about the Si other than it's place in the pricing lineup. Looks like the Si will be holding close to its roots. Glad I chose to stick with my 2013 which I still enjoy driving very much!

The argument of the Si vs the CTR is a tough call. Both will offer good performance albeit different leagues. Both will offer that "sports" appeal.

However I can guess there will be a $10K difference or close to it. Honda isn't in the business to move the Si further up the range of the pricing scale. It more than likely will stay the same. That's what it always has been. No sense in changing it. But, that doesn't mean you can't have a great car for the money in the Si.

The Type R will be nuts. The rumored $28K-$33K would KILL the hyper hatch market but it might be limit quantities. Something I definitely hope they do not do. Everyone knows it'll be based on the hatch so that leaves the Si for the Sedan and Coupe based on what has been reported.

Honda won't price the Type R close enough for people to really decide if it's a matter of money between the two trims. I have the empty gut feeling (and slightly sickening feeling) they'll price it right at that point that makes you question if you should buy it or not. It seems OEMs are doing that lately.

My $0.02

+1 I would never spend 30k usd on a civic. Si or type R. Would rather put that into an Audi or a 3 series and pay the difference. I know the 10th gen is a great car but Honda needs to be realistic here.
To option an Audi or 3 series like the Honda.....you will be $15-$20k more than the $30,000 Type R. The Type R would spank either of these vehicles on the track. Neither the Si or R will be wired for the comfort that Audi or BMW bring. Also to get a manual transmission in either of these cars you will have to spend more as manual transmissions are only offered in the 340 Xi and up for BMW and require moving to the Type S for the Audi. Both of these step ups in models add substantial cost as both are tied to larger engines as well. Dollar for dollar.....the Si and Type R performance will be difficult to beat.
