Just curious, not judging or hating - if you dislike the driving experience CVTs offer, why did you buy a car with one?
It was a hasty decision made after a 40 minute test drive- thought I could live with it.

40 minutes? At a dealership?

I've had a cvt once before in a Ford crossover and it sucked. I was nervous about getting a cvt again. After reading and a 10 minute test drive I decided to give it a shot. It's fine when I'm just cruising or have the kids in the car I keep it in "Drive". It's quick and responsive in the "S" mode when I'm in a hurry or want to drive like a I'm a fast and furious idiot.

Also I just rented a Nissan Altima for a week on vacation and it's cvt sucked. No power at all when trying to accelerate.

I've had my fair share of experience with CVTs prior to my Civic. First time with a Versa rental (kill me), then my dad's '11 Outback (not a bad CVT but the 4-cylinder lacks power), test drove a Rogue (not bad), and had a rental Altima.

The Altima had pretty decent power to me. At that time, I was commuting from the MD suburbs of DC out to the mountains and it felt like it had good pep. It surged a bit when cruising though. Of course if I drove it again my thoughts might be different.

Civic's CVT + turbo combination is good enough that you forget it's a CVTS the majority of the time. It doesn't really drone since it doesn't have to review high. Quick blip of power, then you're back to efficient cruising. That low RPM power is a godsend. MPG is way better than I would have expected to get real world as well.

@Justin G Yup, my salesman handed my buddy and I the keys to an EX. :respect:

Also, I'm thinking the CVT is less CVT-like in a turbo- I get the rubberband effect when I give it gas :(.

Other than the design (exterior and interior), I was impressed by the quietness of its cabin, the suspension and shock dampening and the short steering rack. Really great car fundamentally. My infotainment system is running strong btw. Only randomly dropping ipod/Bluetooth connections just as much as the next car.

The coupe's third brake light cover problem is a ridiculous oversight though imo.

Yes I would buy it again. I've only had it for almost 3 months now, but come back and ask that question a year from now. It's a fun sporty coupe and I'm glad Honda offered a fun color to go with it!!!!:D:thumbsup::drive:

I saw your website....you have well over enough to file a lemon buy back for sure... Also, did you contact the dealer themselves. I would hash-tag the dealer's name so the google spiders pick it up. They might not light the negative publicity.
I spoke to the deal, the district rep, and corporate. At each level they all have their own problems. Currently Honda only wants to give me $2500 as compensation. But that was before corporate realized that they were not given all the problems wrong with my car. Seems people want to try and hide things from the next level up. I know I have been lied to by the GM stating he was the owner of the dealership. The district rep says his wife owns the upgraded model, but was clueless on things he should know. The dealer and district manager also failed to pass on critical information. Honda Corp. looking a lot closer now at all the things that has transpired with the vehicle. I can only hope that they realize that no customer should ever have an experience like mine, and step up to the plate. Simply buying back the car, is the very least they should do in my opinion.

Holding off on suggesting friends and family buy Honda unless they resolve some of their issues with my car. Dents, weird noises, starting to regret getting this car....

No, I would not buy my Touring Sedan again. I'd wait until the 17's come out and convince my fiancé to let me get a 6spd coupe. I may yet trade this car in.

After a month of highway driving I feel like the power drop from my old Accord Coupe is just too significant. I'm badly missing the power I had when accelerating off the line and at highway speeds. I enjoy the occasional stop light showdown and I like to feel confident if I need to weave in and out of traffic for whatever reason. Both of those things are significantly diminished with the Civic. Plus, it's just not that fun to drive. Soul-less is how I might describe it. Automatic + CVT is just too much of a departure from what I'm used to.

LKAS is pretty cool, but over the past few days I feel like it's trying to kill me. I keep my hands on the wheel with it most of the time, but it still, at times, jerks hard in one direction. There are certain things that make it happen every time, but others there's just no reason I can find for it's odd behavior. ACC is in kinda the same boat. Even at cruising speeds, the following distance and reaction time are poor. When I've tried to use it in those situations, I felt like I was driving like an a$$hole, so it didn't last long. Both are wonderful with minimal traffic and good road conditions. Otherwise, they both stay off.

In a different circumstance this car might have been perfect. The gas mileage is phenomenal and part of the reason I bought the car. Sensing has been a let down and this was another major reason for my purchase. If sensing were a little more mature I might be able to live with the rest, but it's not, so I don't think I can. Maybe I'll give this to my fiancé and trade her car in for something a little more my style.

Yes....it may be because it was made in July, 2016 (just bought it not long ago), but everything I read people are having issues with, I do not....maybe they fixed the issues this far along in 2016, maybe I will have some of the issues later, but the car is fun, its a sedan (little kid ---sorry accord coupe :( ), and I got a great price on it
