Yes definitely more yellow than amber which kinda trips me out. All my other lights... Rear sequentials and suma mirror signals are all amber so these don't match. I'm not complaining... It is just different is all.
The drls should dim down from what I've read. But I did not test this out yet.

OH and on another note. I was not able to finish my install on the foglights. I did mount them but the plug is different on the morimotos than the one for the stock LED type r fogs. So I will have to track down that connector.
damn that is unfortunate. It did look more yellow in pictures but i had hoped it was similar in color. I don't have anything amber on the front at least like the mirror signals so at least i dont have to worry about it not matching haha. Would you say the DRL is brighter than the factory headlamps?

Thank you for this, Volksparts. Excellent work please keep it up. My set arrived yesterday so will be following your footsteps soon. Really looking forward to seeing how your car looks with the Morimotos and Fogs.... I didn’t get the fogs, but may do so in the future.

May I ask what the purpose is for the 3M clear film? Is it scratch protection?

Not sure what the mishimoto hose connectors are like, but if they are hose clamps, recommend performing a boost leak check on your system, if have an air compressor and a turbo boost leak detector.

I had a boost leak on the Wagner IC hose clamps and it took me some time to diagnose and resolve the issue. Ended up having to re-pull the bumper and leak check 2x to finally nail it down.

Alright so I spent pretty much the entire day installing the intercooler and headlights. The mishimoto intercooler included the tubes also so that added time. I also did some painting of the crash bar to keep the black theme as seen from the outside of the car. I also has 3m clear film that I covered the headlight with. I used the "WET" method along with a heat gun. Still waiting for the tiny bubbles to all eventually fade away. I thought after I did the install that one of the headlights was not working because it had the sequential doing an erratic pattern. I tested with a multimeter and realized that my battery drained somehow and this caused the lights to do this. After connecting my charger to the car they work great now. A couple things that caught my eye. One is that the yellow signal is almost like a soft yellow (but still super bright) and I'm usually used to more of a crisp amber on most my upgraded lights in my vehicle. Another thing is the DRL is stupid bright. I mean you can see my car from super far and when they are on with the headlights it's almost like having additional headlights. I'm not complaining as it's awesome. And lastly, my headlights came pretty much already at the same heights and almost identical in height to my stock lights. I only did some minor tweaking of the height after.

Yeah luckily I still had my boost least checker from my old tubo cars to check everything. So far so good. Yeah the clear film is for the scratch protection. This is my first time using this brand to do mine so it was an interesting install. My first attempt I did the dry method with cutting tape but the stuff was too thick to cut with the tape thread. I ended up taking the film off. Then I tried the wet method and heat gun and then trimmed off the excess with a hobby blade. Looks good so far. I did this before reinstalling the bumper. I'm going to do this same thing when I install my Morimotos on my Tacoma next week.

Whoa. Unboxed to take a quick peek and they look so good in person. Much darker than I thought, which is a plus ;)

Yes same exact boxes as from TRS. Another funny thing is not only did I ordered these I also ordered the Tacoma ones from another vendor (headlight revolution) instead of TRS since they were running 20% off instead of 15% like TRS.

any special wiring to get the DLR's running without any issues?
No issues whatsoever. Everything is included. The lights even come with an adapter harness for those that do not have stock LED headlights. I did not need that extra harness so just plugged right in. Two days of turning these on and no issues as of now. I wired my fogs tonight and put on the 3m protection film. The four pictures included are the Drls only, the headlights low, the low headlights and fogs, and the lows/highs combo (aka brights) .

I got bored tonight and went out to the parking garage to do some adjustment on the height of the OEM LED reflector headlights in my Si. Apologies in advance but the pics were all taken with my iPhone X on auto mode no flash. The first picture as I'm pulled up as close as possible to the wall shows more scatter/reflection than I noticed with my eye in person. The next two pics were after I aimed the headlights from exactly 25 feet away; it seems the low beams were aimed from the factory about an inch too low and rotating the screw behind the headlights 3-4 times brought them up dead even to where they should be. The first pic next to the wall I have the fog lights on, but the next two are with the fogs off and just low beams.

I couldn't find a road nearby that had zero streetlights but it did seem that by a slight raise in height, the beam pattern and output is less splotchy. I'm sure the XBs are even better in this regard but refining the OEM headlights has given me a bit of pause to rush out and spend $850 for the XBs. Looks like I'm back at Square One of thinking.....

Yeah I had raised my stock LED height abought 6 months ago but I just always felt they were blotchy especially compared to my Tacoma that had single projector lights that I installed LEDs into. I used to run HIDs in those but they were also distorted before.
So after driving my Tacoma I was kinda spoiled in light output being even and more crisp.
So far so good with the new lights. I do feel they are more even and crisp. Again, I was happy to get them cheaper than the old prices these used to run last year. I am also happy with the morimoto fogs so far. I also used the same 3m film to cover them for protection.

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly? Maybe lumens? I'm not sure on that. When I said I said I adjusted them I was referring to the height alignment by marking where the hot spot was when the headlights were a few inches from a wall and raising the height to ensure that they were at the same marked height when the car was backed up exactly 25 feet.
