Just wanted to see what people are running and what’s out there in the market if I haven’t seen it already. Currently waiting on the 27won’s front strut bar, but seeing how the Corona virus is effect R&D on that my patients is growing thin lol. Soo,

1.) What front strut bar are you running and why did you buy that one?
2.) Are there any issues or complaints you have about it ?
3.) Price?...and if you want to go the extra mile, a link to where you bought it.

Also, be safe everyone. Living in a crazy time right now.

Yeah, I'm in the market for a strut bar so I'm wondering the same thing! :)

1.) I'm no longer running it. But I bought the Ultra Racing strut bar. I bought it specifically because of the one piece design (no hinges or quick releases)

2.) The only issue (for me) was that, with the bar installed, there wasn't enough length on the (strut) bolts to completely attach the nuts/fasteners/whatever. (see attached photo)

3.) I believe it was around $75 to $100 shipped via eBay.

1.) DC Sports strut bar (p/n CSB5532). Got it bc single piece construction and good price.

2.) Only complaint is the hose/wire wrap they include is pretty shitty. I swapped it out for some thermal heat wrap to protect the negative battery cable and fuel purge line from any potential damage. Dunno if it's necessary, but better safe than sorry. Small insurance to prevent any headaches down the line. Also, the thermal heat wrap look a lot better than the coiled wire loom crap. Lol.

Oh, and the included nuts didn't seem to fit on.. well, anything, so I just reused the stock strut bolt nuts.

3.) Was $113.99 with free shipping when I got it, the site I got it from now lists it at 125.99 (but now out of stock). Ballpark price I've seen it at has been $125-135

Anyone have experience with the Cusco or Tanabe? The DC racing one looks really nice!

I've owned 3 bars.

First the Sirimoto from ProCivic. Honestly, it's not really all that great. Not just the fact that it has the less functional hinged design. The quality is average at best. I was so disappointed with that one I never even wound up installing it. I sold it and bought ...

The Ultra Racing bar. I had one on my previous car and knew the quality of that brand. The one piece powder coated design is excellent and works well to keep things very secure in quick lane change manuevers... it's a top notch bar. As a side note, shoegazer is way off on the cost. It costs considerably more than $75-$100 (almost double that). I bought mine from Ultra Racing USA because of the CivicX / free shipping offers at the time.

Currently, I run the DC Sports bar. It's functionally as good as the UR bar but I prefer it's gunmetal finish to the UR's white powder coat. The price is fantastic. The only negative is that the bar is often out of stock.

I will also be watching this thread closely. I am intrigued by how awesome these strut bars look, and how easy they look to install. I assume there is plenty of clearance under the hood to not worry about it coming into contact with the bar? Are the three bolts on each side simply connecting two structural components together?

Digging that DC strut bar both the color and the thickness of the bar itself . Anyone here running a strut bar paired with the civic type R subframe brace (fits all 10th gens)? ...or if you have not heard, it’s a ~$30 OEM piece that bolts up to help the handling. It’s found on the type R, but since all 10th gens (not sure about 2.0L NA) share the same subframe the bolt holes are there for install. Let me know if anyone needs part numbers. Just ordered mine few days ago, will install tomorrow when It is delivered.

You mind sharing where you got the heat wrap? Heard about that hose melting on some strut bar application. I would love the piece of mind as well, since I know these engine bays are hot Hot HOT

My local autozone had it. DEI protect-a-sleeve kit, but I couldn't tell you what size I got. It was like $20-25. I double sleeved the fuel purge line for a bit of extra abrasion resistance, and just a single sleeve on the negative battery line

How difficult of an install is it supposed to be?

I actually installed the FK8 subframe brace about a month ago. Car feels more planted
