I have been planning on getting D2 lowering springs for my 2018 Civic SI Sedan but i'm concerned about the negative camber that comes with lowering any car. I was planning on getting a rear camber kit but I want to know if it is really needed. Is the camber so bad that it wipes out tires, and messes up daily driving. If the camber is bad should I be worried about both the front and the rears?

yes it is necessary for the rear. You can drive it without it but your tires will not last long. Front will be fine.

hey as others have said above, def need a camber kit so you don’t chew through tires. I just got my D2 springs put on, you’ll love em! I got SPC rear camber arms, they were a pain to install but nothing crazy and I still have some negative camber for the sake of looks but car finally drives straight again.

pic if you were wondering what it’ll look like (mind you I have wheel spacers installed)

I have D2 Springs on my ‘20, but no rear camber kit. I heard that even if you fix the camber; the toe is still gonna be an issue for where your tire will still wear out.

I've been on d2's since 2018... A year and some change with no camber kit and for the past few months i've been running SPC front lower ball joints and K-tuned rear camber arms. As far as not needing a camber kit, you honestly dont. As stated above its really the toe angle that chews up tires. more negative camber will just mean you'll have to rotate your tires more often, to keep the life they are rated for. As far as issues with dialing in the toe angle... i havent had any of my alignments guys mention they couldnt adjust it properly due to the springs so you should be good there. Just for reference i've asked for both factory toe alignment specs and custom toe specs... both were achievable .

Now... If you happen to care about handling you absolutely need (at minimum) a rear camber kit. The drop in the rear from the d2's is going to send your negative camber from -1 to the -2.6 range. All that negative camber is going to induce a hell of a lot of under steer and hurt your handling pretty bad.

For the most part, but sometimes you don’t need an alignment after lowering. Since Eibachs are half the drop of D2’s I’d say it’ll be driveable without an alignment but I’d recommend camber arms anyways.

Here’s a pic of how everything was looking on my 2020 SI coupe 3 days after I installed the D2 lowering springs, the camber was definitely off. I installed the SPC camber arms and then did the alignment.

The wheels aren’t the stock ones you get with the car. I had my dealer install the HFP package and these cans with it. They’re wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1 Sports (sticky summer tires). And thank you!
