Hello CivicX community
I want to ask please from experienced tuners here what can be the impact of the "Early spool" on a fully stock car. Does it have some negative effects in the long run?

From reading the forum, few PDF`s and Ktuner website I think that I understand what "Turbo spool" and "Turbo responsiveness" do, and what part behavior inside the engine they alter (wastegate control valve and correlation with the throttle). But, my knowledge is not enough to understand what can be the consequences of the early spool on a fully stock car.

Does it affect only the wastegate control valve too (like Turbo spool option) or it alters the exhaust valve timing too?
If the second option is right - does it mean that more exhaust gasses leave earlier with more unburned fuel inside and in a long term can pollute the turbocharger?

I am adding a picture of the Turbocharger system that I learned from:

Looking forward to your replies
Thanks!

It affects turbo targeting and won't hurt anything long term.
Thank you for your reply!
I was thinking in that way but, when I check the "early spool" nothing changes in the "target boost table". This option (early spool) alters the boost table "behind the scenes" and it does not affect the boost table while making a new tune?

P.S. Sorry for digging deeper and deeper, guess its the "Engineer" in my head that cant "Sit back and relax"

I'm sure Ktuner will chime in, but I believe Honda artificially restricts the turbo spool up. So the target boost table is still the target, but some parameter delays the onset of that boost pressure. Early spool just allows for a more natural onset of boost.

completely stock you mentioned.
turbo so small almost no lag or minimal lag hence function not needed for time being (that's my personal opinion & 2 cents worth)
you can try couple of runs with & without then analyze them.

oh but you're wrong, the computer has artificial lag built to limit the amount of immediate torque the engine would make if it let the turbo spool as quick as it can. It would also make it quite undriveable in city, surging all the time as soon as you touch the pedal. Early spool gets rid of most of the artificial delay. It's also a clutch saver as if you use the higher psi tunes(as I learned) the clutch starts slipping below 3500rpms.

if you say so but i bet ya if properly custom tuned most likely that function will be unticked particularly on stock turbo.

Yes, if properly tuned you can remove it. I was saying that from the factory there is a computer-based boost lag. You can feel it when changing the spool settings with a tuner, tried a couple different ones and you definitely feel it. Haven't tried early spool because of my clutch slip issues but the agressive setting works great and there isn't even a 1 sec lag in there and that wasn't the most agressive setting either.
