thanks man, so if i wanna go lower than the type R 2020 shifter i just gotta cut the acuity one at level 5 so it can go even lower.
I don't think it (Acuity shifter) needs to be any lower as the throw and gate spacing are adjustable (by a lot). People want a short shifter mainly for a shorter throw (by lowering the shift knob). Since you can adjust both settings (throw and knob height) independently, there's a really a diminishing return in cutting the shaft.

I'd disagree. Sometimes you just want the overall height to be lower. In this case, you could cut the bottom of the rod to lower it more than the 10mm limit and then set the throw to a moderate setting.

I personally think about 25mm below stock height is perfect for the top of the shift knob! That's about where my 3rd gen TL factory knob height was. The whole 10th gen console assembly is too damn high up in the cabin lol.

By all means, do it. It's your $475 (Acuity shifter) to spend and chop as you wish, knowing that you won't find a buyer if you want to resell down the road.

5 6/8" - 5 1/8" = 5/8" = 0.63"

0.63" - 0.4" = 0.23"

A 1/4" difference between the Acuity (lowest setting) and 2020 shifter; from eye-ball measurement.
Well by eyeball the Si shifter is about an

yea since adding the 27won shift knob i have a feeling i might want it a little lower then 10mm for comfort since the stock console is very high. I wouldn't be worried about resale of the unit as i would leave it in the car when i sell it someday 5-10 yrs down the road. ill hit that road when i finally get around to installing the new acuity shifter thats in my basement in a box right now.

Before anyone cuts or rethreads any shifters, remember that we sell our POCO shift knobs which allow the shift knob to sit dramatically lower than OEM. See the figure below. Also, keep in mind, if you run the POCO at the lowest setting on our fully adjustable shifter, you may start to have a shift knob so low it is uncomfortable relative to the top of the console. There's definitely a point of diminishing returns in that regard.

You can't just cut your 17-19 shifter lol and expect it to be shorter in throws. It's the rod on the bottom portion that changes the length of the shifts. He also installed it fully already
about the same lol idk

the poco is a sweet idea but i am done with the metal, carbon, COLD or HOT knobs on my car. if you came out with a shift lever that only had 4 settings instead of 5, and sold it as an option to add to the acuity for people who wanted to go a few MM lower im sure you would sell some.

Actually 10mm from stock si lower is not much to begin with lol. Heres the 2020 R on the left and Si shifter on right. Acuity is talking about 10 mm lower from stock si shifter

Does anyone know how the 2020 Type r new shift assembly compared to Boomba racing assembly? I like the low shift knob position and the reduced shift range, but I don't like that the assembly ball joint itself is plastic. Boomba is a decent price and if the spec are the same. I.E. shift knob height and throw range I would prefer to get that. Thanks. If anyone has both can you measure them like in previous pictures?

Well 2020 R OEM is like $36 plus shipping but on National backorder so not sure how long you’ll have to wait for it. boombas shifter assembly is like $226 lol. I mean you can get some acuity parts or whatever brand added to the type r’s and it’ll be cheaper

SHORT shifter install done!
Quick note: make sure not to set the height so low that the bottom of that silver rod hits the shifter when trying to get into the 1/2 gate (moving the shift knob left).
