I just ordered the Type R RMM and Perrin inserts today for my '20 Si. This way, if the NVH is too much, I can just remove the inserts. After reading a ton of posts on RMMs, this seems to be the best option in getting the benefits of a more solid mount without adding much NVH (apparently its only noticeable <1k RPM). I wont be able to install this till the 31st... So if anyone who has this setup can chime in, that'd be great :)
glad to hear someone else will be trying this set up as well. Please let me know how it turns out! I’d love to hear your thoughts. I probably won’t get mine or install it for another few weeks.

Can you provide the link where you ordered the type r mount from? Thanks!

I bought it from here:
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/oem-parts/honda-rod-torque-lower-mt-50890tgha01

Got the type r shifter assembly from them last month too. Usually if you add the item to your cart and checkout but not complete it, they'll email you a 10% off coupon

You might want to check other online honda parts stores though. Shipping might be cheaper than where I got it from depending on your location.

So I started checking the part number around on other sites and i've used hondapartsnow.com before and this is what I found when I searched that part number:

^It seems like HondaPartsNow dosen't sell 2019/older FK8 parts anymore.. Saw the same thing when looking up the shifter assembly and RMM from their site. As for compatibility issues, saw pictures and installs on other threads and it seems to be a direct bolt on (same case for the fk8 shifter assembly- it'll say its not compatible but is almost identical when comparing it to the Si's and was able to install it without any issues)

Ahh I see. I was wondering if that was the issue. Curious as to why they wouldn't support those parts anymore though considering it's only a year old.

Was digging around the forums and saw a CTR owner cracked his OEM RMM. Maybe Honda is beefing it up for the 2020 models?

definitely possible. Plus the 2020s have been out now since late last year so maybe they quickly moved on. Hmm.

I have obviously had a stock, then 27won for a handful of miles to a Cusco for the last 8 to 10k. Cusco went in when I put the new clutch and flywheel. A ton of NVH. But the positive is you have a car that can do what you bought the mount to do.

Production of new parts is slow as demand isnt that high yet on new cars AND the current state of production for everyone is now delayed. IMHO buy something thats in-stock NOW or you wont be able to get it for a while, whatever it is AND you have time now to install it yourself (took me 90min with the 27Won and I was being careful/slow).

I just installed the Perrin insert on stock si mount, basically no nvh at all after my first day of driving. Even at idle with the ac on I can’t notice any. The first start up I noticed it but by the end of the day with only like 45 min of driving it went away. The benefits are awesome but I definitely want to try a step stiffer. I believe people say hard race doesn’t have bad nvh. I’ll either try that or the type r with insert next

Thank you! I was also curious as to what the Perrin inserts would be like on the stock mount.

I’m just kind of torn between trying the type r mount with the inserts or just go 27WON mount. Because the price difference between the 2 is only like $20-$30, but I don’t want to go type r mount and it not be enough or end up going with 27WON and it being too much. Decisions decisions...

Myra I’ve heard the hasports are pretty rough, but I read up on the R&D docs from 27WON and everything seems to check out along with the other positive reviews I’ve seen for it. I think it just comes down to driver preference from what I’ve heard. I’ve seen where people love it and then people have switched back to OEM after a week because it was so bad (though these people probably didn’t allow proper break in).

So I figure worst case scenario I switch back to OEM. The RMM is only like $170 which I guess is pretty cheap compared to other mods lol.

I haven’t done any research in to the factory R mount. What are some benefits of that?
The 27w mount uses harder bushings then that of the Hasport 62a for instance, just so you are aware.

Only reason I didn’t consider hasport is because I’ve read so many complaints about it. I’m assuming the 27WON is probably around 70?
