I don't think that will exactly stimulate the economy. A charity will probably give it to some overpaid executive who will horde it or use it for a project that won't turn a profit, like some community rally. You buying parts from a small business pays a salary that will be used to buy groceries etc and keep the economy growing. It would also get taxed when you spend it and then again when the worker gets paid. Not trying to defend the government, but this plan cooks the books just as much. Not trying to attack you personally though, just don't think that plan fulfills the public intention behind the check.I hate that they pretend they have money to give out. They are more in debt than all the people who are receiving this money. They need to stimulate their own income by collecting taxes more efficiently, correcting the tax gap, and stop spending more than they make. But instead they approach everything like a con artist, just trying to make things look good and hiding the books. Stimulus or not, I honestly don't need this money so I won't keep it. I'll donate my check to a charity and they will certainly spend it. And yes, I'm advocating this as a better plan for most recipients.
While I agree that some charities, or even a lot of them, barely do good because they are run by greedy people, I suggest that there are easy ways to determine a charities donating vs donations received. If you dont want to do any searching to find a good charity then here a quick pick list you could use : https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/guid/f709cf92-8bf9-4b02-bead-b98f825becf8I don't think that will exactly stimulate the economy. A lot of politicians will have helped produce this stimulus. Trump would be at the bottom of the list.Hello everybody as you know the coronavirus is out and about raking some havoc thanks to President Trump we will be getting a stimulus package that will probably be around 600-1000$$ being a Honda fanatic I have to just now what will you be purchasing for your Honda with this?
Personally I think this is a great opportunity to get a Ktuner!!
This is fair, I can't fault you for that. It is also yours to spend just as much as it is mine. Let's hope we stay on track so we can talk about car mods without having to worry about the economics of it.While I agree that some charities, or even a lot of them, barely do good because they are run by greedy people, I suggest that there are easy ways to determine a charities donating vs donations received. And with an economic downturn, people often give less to charities, so giving a stimulus check will will help level out their donations.
Kid you not I have been spending all this week testing on stock turbo cars with the TIP upgrade. @charleswrivers@charleswrivers
The Civic? She’s not getting any love other than maybe a car wash by hand. That TSP tune is as far as she’ll get for the foreseeable future... though I keep watching the blogs on 27WON’s new TIP. Waiting for a dyno.
That TIP is only going to benefit those that are/have gone much larger turbos. The bottleneck on stock turbo isn’t the TIP. So, you are golden there bud.
A lot of people in this thread have no idea what a Stimulus Package is and what it's for. But the above quote is a good explanation of it.I see some people misunderstand "stimulus". Stimulus is not welfare. Its not really intended for the recipients (although it helps). "Stimulus" is directed at businesses and the economy. Spend your stimulus money on whatever you want, that's exactly what it's for. To stimulate spending and help the economy. Actually, going to a hotel bar and spending it all on drinks would be the best, because this would transfer the money the most effectively to the restaurant/hospitality business which is being badly hurt. The worst misuse of the stimulus money would be to put in a savings account. Very unpatriotic.
You’ll get no argument from me. Charge/intake pipes on a stock turbo’ed Z car beat out exhaust and just the intake alone for what they could do. Been following the blog with much anticipation. Glad y’all are seeing what a effect it is on a car w/the stocker and not just the 27WON drop-in.Kid you not I have been spending all this week testing on stock turbo cars with the TIP upgrade. @charleswrivers
On the topic of the stimulus package, it is an interesting one. Because spending it on car parts does technically help. For example, a purchase made to us as a small business really helps. It gives us the resources that are needed to continue further R&D. As well it affects the business we work with like our cardboard manufacture, packing supplier, various vendors and suppliers, and etc. It's a big chain.
