The OEM shifter is ~$40 and the Hybrid racing shifter is ~$400. I must be missing something here...

Personal preference. After spending $400 on hybrid. Super short and precise shifts. Love it but rather spend the extra $$$ saved on something like flex fuel kit. I can bang gears just the same whether its oem, acuity, and hybrid

Ok, so you're saying someone trades you their shifter and gives you some cash. That makes more sense...I guess I was just reading it wrong.

The 2020 OEM shift knob is ugly as sin. The 2017-2019 ball design didn’t look like a loaf of bread on a gear shift. Get the type R upgrade shift knob it’s the same 2017-2020.

The 2020 Civic Type R shift knob is the same as it was back in the 1997 Civic Type R

I get that.. but it’s not 1997 anymore and that doesn’t make it look any better in 2020. To each their own, if you like it that’s all that really matters.

With 2020 production haulted you may as well order one - I’ve read 2020s may not hit lots until as late as August or September.

I’m glad I didn’t wait around for the Honda 2020 Carbon Fiber hood scoop with all the craziness going on right now in shipping production of nearly anything.

Well that’s like the only shift knob that fits properly on the 2020 Type R shifter assembly since it’s different from 17-19

you can order the proper nut for the 17-19 but I hear it’s like $50 as well.

yeah it's around that. The 2020 Type R Shifter assembly is twice as short as the 2017-2019 for shifting so that's nice.

I can’t imagine it’s twice as short, it already has a short throw. I know the Knob is a “weighted” Knob but looks bulkier than the OEM upgrade knob.
