Waiting in a turn lane, the pickup in front of me suddenly decided to back up because Google told him to turn around. If that doesn't make sense, it doesn't make sense to me either. Luckily his trailer hitch only hit the vent piece miraculously missing the paint.

Anyways, anyone know if the 2020 front vent pieces will fit on the 2017 bumper covers? Is the little color accent piece a separate piece or is it masked and painted?

Pretty sure the new ones fit. You would probably have to buy the correct part number for you paint code.

I'd just get the (1) 2017-19 vent trim cover to replace the one that's damaged if I was you.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing, but I like the looks of the 2020 trim piece too.

Dammit, that sucks but you got lucky I'd say. I had this happen to me about 10 years ago. Was in my BMW sitting at a stop light and a pickup truck in front of me decides to back up for whatever reason. SMASH. Ended up causing over 3k worth of damage to the front of my car. I also went after her insurance company for diminished value and pocketed another 2k.

Ugh. Sorry this happened to you. I really wish they’d extend social distancing to vehicles. Especially pickup trucks.

The trim piece should fit, but because the piece on the vent piece is painted to match it’ll probably be expensive. The rear tow hook cover on the hatchback rear bumper cost me $240 (at the time now it’s $150) because it comes painted to match. It’s the tiniest piece ever (part number 7 in the image), can’t imagine what that front piece cost. But for paint transfer use rubbing compound and a microfiber towel or applicator pad/sponge to remove it
