I currently have a 18 civic si & I love it but I have always considered the type r but didn’t go through because I had never seen one or drove one. My dealership have one on the sales floor. Is it worth a test drive? I already know I’m gonna fall in love with it because I love the Si.

They probably won't let you test drive it. It's an awesome car but if you need a test drive before deciding, find a used one in your area to test out then go buy that one.

Or save time - just go buy that one.

I was there getting maintenance done and that’s how I seen it there and they would make me go through a pre-approval before they’d let me but they said they would let me drive it but then I have to listen to their sales pitch and try to walk away from it

Are you serious about buying it? Assuming that its going to be the most amazing car you've ever driven, will you buy it? If not, skip the test drive. Buyers of a car like the Type R can be picky and the dealer doesn't want to jeopardize a sale because the car has been out on test drives. Just ask if you can sit in it and make sure you are comfortable in the seat.

If you want to test drive one the best bet is to go to like a CarMax that has a used one on lot or a non-Honda dealership. Most Honda dealerships might let you test drive a used one if there is one on their lot, but you'll most likely have to be serious about buying one of them.

Test drive one and let us know what you think.

Find a used one so that you and push it and use the full rev range.

I test drove a 2020 Si last weekend and it's a night and day difference, from a power perspective. Be prepared to want the Type R if you do get that test drive.
