Hi all,

I finally decided to tune my car and hands down best mod I ever bought. It completely changed the way it feels especially putting around on low gears.

Just had a few questions.

1.) For logging.. what are some values I should keep an eye on to see if car is running normal and what values should be. (e.g. Knock Control ~ .49)

2.) If you are running a stage tune is there a way for the car to default to a certain map without having Ktuner plugged in the whole time? (e.g. default to TSP map 3 on startup)

Thanks!

1) LTFT, STFT, AFR, boost, K.control are probably the biggest ones. IAT1/2 to a lesser extent
2) Whatever map is in the first slot is what will be the default with the ktuner removed. If you are using TSP, you'll need to contact them to ask for the file w/ map 3 in the first slot.

Man, thought there would be a better way to get around that map 3 switching, but guess not. Thanks for the help!

What values should we be looking for here?

LTFT ideally should be within +/-5%, but most guys see a bit more extreme values in the heat of the summer. STFT will swing wildly during throttle transitions, but during steady state driving should settle around 0%. Anything regularly +/-20% is possibly cause for concern. Boost shouldn't exceed whatever you are tuned for. Also, if you are only seeing like 5 psi when you would expect to see 20, obviously that's a problem. k.control should stay pegged at .49 for the Si and only go up a bit during lots of hard driving. For AFR, you don't want to see lean values, during high loads. Not sure what the target fueling is during heavy throttle off-hand, but I assume it's probably around 12.5. If you are flooring it and you see an AFR of 14, that's a problem.

Also i noticed when you reflash your car it will default to .59 k control at first then make its way down.

If you leave the tuner plugged into the vehicle (no laptop needed, just the device), it will turn back on with the tune that you last turned it off with.

This is what I do. My only problem is that I kick it every so often, and I'm afraid I'm going to jostle it out of position or wreck that insert (or that a valet will steal it if they notice it).

Yeah that is what i started doing as well, I leave mine plugged in. I feel like taking the wire in and out of the port on the ktuner will do more damage (in my IT experience at least) than just leaving it in.
