If I paid for a file that has minor corrections like what I got from ericka racing I'd be more upset if they locked it but if I paid for an etune I wouldnt be upset kinda like how the tsp stage 1 I received with my ktuner for my 18si I was very happy with what I received. I had no reason to look any deeper into it but with the tune I had from ericks racing I was expecting more than what I received.

Yeah I had great dyno numbers but the streetability wasnt there until I adjusted it myself because they wanted to charge me to fix it how would that be fair if they locked it. In fact that is not fair because I paid for an unfinished product that was not useable without additional work.

That's an entirely different problem altogether and we agree with you 100%, friend. It is absolutely not fair and fuck those guys for doing that to you. Like I said earlier, this wasn't a case of 'I don't like this'. Your fucking fuel pump turned off in the middle of a run - that can cause major detonation. We don't even know how that was possible.

But that doesn't mean good tuners like Derek shouldn't be able to protect their hard work.

As I said I'm not opposed to a completely finished product like the tsp tunes those are very well put together so them being partially locked is fine.
It's the fact that I paid for a custom dyno tune that's unfinished that upsets me because I had to adjust to make useable.

Locking a finished product which is meant for mass use that prevents the primary parameters from being changed is fine.

If you were "Custom" tuned, you should return and RETUNE. More boost does not equal MORE power regardless of fuel you use.
FYI - The Duty Cycle of the Injectors needs to cover the addt'l % of Ethanol as it burns faster and has less combustion behind it - thus, you need to inject more fuel than with just pump fuel.

They won't retune him without paying more. They ripped him off.

With ethanol and our cars its more an issue with the fuel pump than the injectors, for the same reason nonetheless.

It's just stupid because others had no issue with running fbo and e40 while I've had nothing but issues running even as low as e27 but I've finally gotten it smooth all the way to red line no hiccups no codes no fuel pressure loss even though I peak at 100% duty for a short while it does not trigger p0087 anymore.
And sadly it feels light years better acceleration wise than right after the tune

Same, I’ve been having issues with corn too and all I have is an intercooler

Honestly its pretty easy to tune these things once you understand how to read the datalogs which I can thank a few guys here for explaining it and giving me some basic tables to start with and adjust from there.

Btw hondata has some pretty decent info themselves for adjusting things without blowing it up

Yep. I'm learning EFI tuning by fucking with the R for the past couple of years. It's smart enough and has enough wiggle room to mess with small things without being dangerous. It also figures out a lot of things for you to make things work as well as possible in every scenario. I love this ECU.

It's a Bosch MED17.9.3 if you wanted to do more research. It's somewhat similar to the MED7 from old VWs which has much more info online.

It's similar to my old e30 it uses a bosch moronic ecu and that has the ability to adapt slightly.
But obviously not as advanced as they are today lol
At least bosch makes it easy not to mess up anything

On top of all this, the man made the fuckin KTuner basemaps and didn't lock those. I'm sure he gets a check or something from James, but he isn't the nefarious tuner you seem to think he is.
Nope, no checks. I'm not on KTuner payroll at all.

I very well could have released the new basemaps for the FK8 as private-label off the shelf tunes for profit, but thought it best to share with KTuner for all to enjoy at no added cost for the FK8 platform.

Wow, my guy. Mad respect.

It's gotta be pretty cool to be able to say you basically tuned a large portion of the tuned Rs out there.
