I had the OEM tires removed and MPS4S installed and after I asked the manager if they could mount new tires without damaging the wheels they proceeded to damage 3 out of 4 with one wheel having damage all the way around the lip. The picture shows part of the damage but it goes around almost the entire wheel. Car had less then 100 miles.

I am not sure what I want to do but was wondering what a OEM wheel cost to replace. I couldn't find them on any parts sites as they must be to new.

Thanks for any help!

Ouch, what would you guys do?
Negotiate a credit or make them replace damaged wheels?

Personally I'd ask them to fix them, either replace altogether or re-powdercoat them. Seeing as how they'll probably balk at that due to the cost, at the very least you should be getting a few hundred dollars out of them to use towards a nicer, lighter set of wheels in the future. These OEM wheels are boat anchors.

Honestly they should have the wheel repaired for you since they caused the damage. If they don't have the proper equipment or skill to do the wheels without damaging them they should have turned down the work. I don't know what tire machine they used but a scratch around the wheel like that usually means the little plastic attachment is dirty or missing it's felt pad. I can't believe the tech didn't stop after the first wheel was scratched and go talk to the service adviser working on your ticket. There is honestly no excuse to do that to the whole set. I'd be forgiving if they stopped on the first one when they realized the mistake.

Wow, a core charge for a wheel? Never heard of that before

Honda charges a $50 core for each aluminum wheel and $15 for each steel wheel.

They've done it for a long time.

It's not uncommon in this business. Some of the domestic car lines even have cores for their bumper covers.

I'd talk with the shop manager and see how they want to fix the damage to the wheels, first. If they legit damaged the wheels then they should make it right for you, the customer.

I recall a thread where a guy with a CTR had his OEM wheels damaged and the tire shop replaced his wheels for him.

They should pay for replacement. Sucks for them but they should have better training for their technicians or insurance. Or both.

Now that I think of it, I have never replaced factory wheels. They are usually the first things to come off of the car when I get it, only to be put back on when trading it in.

Before replacing them yourself, go after them.

I would be livid if my brand new Si had 3/4 wheels totally damaged like that. They should be replacing them considering how new the wheels are. They would feel the same way as you if it was their car.

In Canada the wheels are roughly $600 each. Insane, yes. If someone wrecked my wheels I would 100% not be forking out that money myself unless it was my fault.
