Just got my Xpel ppf done on the type r about 2-3 weeks ago and noticed a few small issues. Eg. passenger mirror cap film was coming off at a corner, hood scoop was machine cut and not fully wrapped, both headlights had a large corner that the film was sticking to by lower corner). Took it back to the shop and was told that it wasn’t a problem and leave the car there.

Picked it up today with the following results:
1. Passenger mirror film fixed.
2. Scoop left the same because of the contour of the scoop. Installer said he can’t fully wrap it.
3. Non adhered areas on both headlights were cut out with a razor blade. One corner has a razor cut to the headlight...

Spoke to the installer on the phone and he promises he can fix this issue...

This is frustrating because the point of ppf was to protect the car not cause damage. Turns out the shop I used actually uses a general Xpel installer.

Paid 1800 for the “seamless” wrap and 600 for a car pro ceramic silver package.

Hmm, had Xpel Ultimate installed on my car, installer has done a pretty good job. I think it's alot on the skill of the intaller. I tried it myself, and it definitely is harder than it looks. Did your installer have access to the templates? Or did he kind of free-handed and cut the film on your car?

I had a similar experience with my PPF install. There are a lot of imperfections and areas where you can see “glue spots” under the film. It’s been on for a year now and it still bothers me. I might get everything taken off except for the front bumper and hood and just stick with ceramic coatings for now on.

The installed used the templates. But we’re able to extend parts of it to wrap around. Most of it was fine but there were a few annoyances for the price I paid.

I had tried ceramic paint protection. It really gave clean and gloss to my car. I got it from https://ceramicprotection.com.au/. It's really it and the paint will lasts longer than 5 years based on my experience.
