Came from a 2016 EX-T. Looking back, I should have just waited my previous lease to finish up but I wanted to jump on the turbo bandwagon asap. my old 2016 was riddled with issues that I have previously posted about.

Moved up to a 2019 Si for the bump in performance and driving MT again (+ bigger brakes, rims, and better audio). I ended up paying less than what I did for my 2016 and ended up getting a lot more in features and performance from my new car so that's always a plus.

The car as it stands now is my daily driver with the occasional weekend shenanigans. I will keep the car UNLESS theres a Gen 11 Si hatch.

Had an old VW R32 that I loved but good lord did that thing cost me to keep it running. I was thinking about a sport hatch but the market for those was so strong I could basically spend a few grand more and get a Si. Always wanted an Si and the only other car I was really considering was a performance pack GTI but I am kinda sick of dealing with VW. I was about to buy a 2019 but the 2020s got LEDs and shorter final drive so I thought that was worth talking myself up another thousand. Thank god there weren't any white CTRs around or I may have tried talking myself into that.

I was in the position to get either the Si or Type R but decided I didn't need or will ever use the R's potential. And.. every car I have ever owned was a hatch till the Si.. To me, the Sedan looks the best..

At the end, it came down between the WRX and the Si.. I test drove them back to back twice and felt that I liked the Si's driving experience better overall

If Honda ever comes out with a Sedan R, I might jump on that bandwagon

I picked up my Si because it had good performance, excellent handling, the best manual transmission I have ever shifted, and 40mpg. Great for daily driving. I liked it so much, I upgraded after a year and a half of owning one.

I was coming from a 2004 Mercury Sable grandma car (literally bought it from my grandma), it served me well but it was boring, and not my style.

Had the CTR not had the big spoiler in back, or been a coupe I would have likely gone deep into car debt to get one. I was shopping right as the Si came out and they weren't a thing when I first started looking at Civics so I imagined I'd end up with a Touring Coupe, then saw an Si at an intersection nearby and the black nose got me and the wrap around brake lights of the coupe already had me.

I may need to look around Dayton for track days... It sounds like fun.

I got the civic si because I drive a lot for work and use my car for work buying the type r felt like disrespect to do that to the “type r” name atleast with the si I feel like I can reasonably abuse the interior and not feel as guilty with all my tools

I'm definitely in category 1, but eventually want to be in category 2.

Wanted a fun, sporty, economical daily with an M/T. The Si seemed like the most logical upgrade from an 05 Acura TL 6MT. Comes with a lot of features at a great price point and Honda has a pretty good reputation when it comes to reliability. Hoping to keep this thing for another 10+ years!

For a garage queen, I'm thinking about an R32 GTS-T or an R34 25 GT :drive:

I wanted a fun and economical daily driver. I considered a Type R but bought a 2019 MX-5 instead. Even though it's much slower than a Type R, I love lightweight RWD sports cars. It's my third MX-5. Of course I'm on my third Si as well.

The perfect car for modding that won't break the bank or the car if you don't go to far. Plus, plus if you look at it from certain angles, it looks just like a 911 Carrera 4 Turbo!

Honda Civic 10th gen What was your logic when you decided to get an Si? Si wanna be

I would dare say that is a stretch, but I do enjoy the curvy side profile compared to my sisters 8th gen. Reminds me I need to put my intake on.

I dunno man they are eerily similar. Even check out the front left corner slope where the headlights are....and the wing shape/profile.....and the roof line...and the side windows outline......and the saggy loaded diaper rear end

Agreed, but it does cost 80 grand more than an Si, so there's that.
