Be happy you're in Florida. Or you can be like me and pay $4,500 a year in state, city and local taxes (on top of federal, sales and property tax) to live in this godforsaken shithole.
Yeah, not having to pay state income tax is pretty nice. You're right about that. I still pay almost a few thousand a year in property tax to the county, though, nonetheless. If you're self-employed you have to pay the county too.

Fuck Florida? Other than Highway Patrol the cops could care less about traffic BS and we have a lot of racetracks. No emissions, no state tax, cheap registration...have you lived anywhere else? Not many more car enthusiast friendly states than Florida.
I actually haven't lived anywhere else than Florida, no. I know we're pretty great in other regards, but I was just talking about our absolute lack of windy roads. Only track I know of that's near me is Sebring.

The cops in my area pretty much never set up speed traps, and if they do it's always in an area where you shouldn't be going fast anyways. Only place you can really get popped around here is passing under bridges on I4 or at the big ass lake bridge on 417, both of which are, as you said, highway patrol. Around here, traffic police pull people over for driving stupid, not for just going fast on an empty road.

The only time I've ever been pulled over in my R is for my tint in Winter Springs coming out of a 7-eleven cause they figured I was a dope dealer and wanted to search the car, and in the end they let me go with a warning cause my pregnant wife and I were on the way to an OB appointment.'

The really great thing is, the jackasses in the end didn't even notice my windshield being tinted (it's very obviously tinted all the way around) and they were claiming the front/rear windows came back with two different readings even though it's the same. They 100% were just looking for a reason to search a car. They even made me wait for the guy with the tint checker.

UGH I am so jealous of these roads. Fuck Florida. My area especially only has long straights of 40mph roads, there's maybe like one or two turns near me that I can actually take fast.
It ain’t all bad. Between no income tax, hitting up Sloppy Joe's/Fat Tuesday on the weekends or having high taxes, droughts, and some twisty roads, it’s a tough call.

One consolation is that the canyon road is only a few minutes from home so I can hit it anytime I want. A 15-20 mins session usually gets my fix for the day. I’m heading out to make another video now.

With the new exhaust it’s also fun to hear it in the straight line at every stoplight. Factory exhaust is just too quiet for the beast that it is.

I still haven't gotten an exhaust/FP but that's all I'm missing now. Got the full PRL setup up front. Won't net me much power but the lack of an exhaust note is starting to get to me. I think I'm gonna end up going with the AWE as well, or the 27WON.

Might swap out the street downpipe for a catless too.. need to take the DP out anyways, been running without any heat shielding on the turbo and DP for too long. (its a long story but tl;dr we had to get the car out asap during the downpipe install and didn't have time to figure out the heat shields, I still got em in the garage)

Most likely I'll end up swapping for catless once I get a bigger turbo since I gotta take the DP off at that point anyways. Come on, PRL P600!

Downgraded climate control to one from LX sedan. Lost dual-zone but gained manual control of AC, fan speed, and modes without going thru the touchscreen.

Bought used from eBay. Part number (79600-TBA) shown below.

Done! Climate control from lower trim (LX sedan) is charcoal. There's one from the hatchback (79600-TGH) that's darker in color but costs twice to three times more on the bay.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to turn on the AC and hit the SYNC button on factory climate control before performing the swap.

This got to my door today. Not sure when it'll be installed though, so technically haven't done much to my Type R :p Playing with shift knobs I guess :p

Me too, exhaust comes in tomorrow. Hope to install over the weekend if it warms up.

Today was a really cold and windy day in NJ, luckily my friend who has a shop helped me with the Remus exhaust installation. Haven’t been able to spend too much time with it but so much it’s great.

No, I'm keeping all OE parts in case of returning to stock later. Here's the part number for future reference.

Installed hybrid racing shifter and titanium knob..
Like the short throw and direct shifting feel.
Knob is abit too high for me though
