Owned both the Si and R...I would also daily the Si instead of the R

1. Gas mileage
2. Easier to get out of lol
3. Maintenance (the only really thing expensive about the R is brake pads if you switch over the tires to something like the PS4s) and for me I only need to swap the brake pads once a year...Oil change is only like $60 2-3 a year.

If I had the option to keep one...would choose the R. Things a beast compared to the Si and comfort is good enough comprise...basically feels like the Si in sport mode but a lot sharper...which says something about how much better than the R is when comfort mode feels better than the Si in sport mode lol

Carvana is buying my Si for $19.7k, nearly $2k more than what the dealer offered for it :dunno:. They pick it up tomorrow and I am picking up my RDX on Weds! Pics shortly!
You said the dealer offered you $18k for you trade. So with your trade in tax savings at 5.75%(Ohio) is going to be another $1035. So effectively you're getting $19035 by trading it. While you did do better than that through Carvana, just be honest with yourself and know the true savings you got out of it was $665.

99.99% of the time people buy an SI because they can’t afford a Type R. Also these cars aren’t built for drag racing but it seems like this forum is so caught up in straight line speed. To each their own I guess.

I find myself almost every odd week or so browsing pics of the CTR and contemplating trading in my 2020 Si. Reality snaps me back to the fact that I bought the Si new because I really like the looks, the balance between comfort and sport, and almost everything about it. Plus, I bought it because it was a daily driver that was fun with an OTD price that I could afford and still have funds left over. I've never even driven an R because I know I would probably get caught up in the moment and just buy it. That being said, while I'm sure it would be a hoot to drive, at 40 years old.....I just can't warm up to the looks. From some angles and in a few colors, I can feel so-so about it, but from others I just cannot see myself enjoying the look of the car for 4-5 years.

That's absurd. People have different needs, tastes and priorities. If they sold a Type R without the wing and 20" wheels, I'd pay the premium for one.

The si and the type r is not comparable in my opinion. The si is a lot cheaper and more capable for a daily driver/spirited driving in canyons and back roads cause you could bang out gear after gear and not break the law. As for the type r its way faster than the si but better in terms of track driving/ daily. That being said si for backroads having fun without breaking the law and type r for more serious track driving.

I would have gotten a Type R when I bought the Si, except they dont make the Type R in a sedan, and need 4 doors for the family, I really dont like a hatch, it reminds me of grandparents old station wagon, just a squished version of one.
WUT? I am so confusion right now.....

The Type R has 4 doors and a hatch...
