If you LOCK the car with the Fob ( and it does not beep or Flash the headlights), peer in at the Instrument panel, and see if the Red "Intruder alarm armed" light is on.

I believe you will find it is NOT on, which is why you are not getting the Beep and headlight flash (or the walk away locking).

Something is preventing the Intruder Alarm system from arming, and it most likely to be a door/trunk/hood sensor.

Locking w the fob AND walking away the lights will flash and the car will lock and the anti theft light is on.

Just no beep on lock and no rapid beeps if the walk away didn’t register

Did you ever get this taken care of? Mine does it ever so often, but I got a new beep thing but it started working again.

The key fob signal gets jammed very easily. It’s partly why it doesn’t always work. When I had my 3ds on sleep mode in my key pocket, the car would never register the key properly . On rare occasions I can’t unlock the door unless I pull away my 3ds from the key. It’s very possible that some smartphones with rf signals to jam the key’s own signal.

So i had the wife check it with me just now... she said it definitely beeps but its very quiet. I cant hear the beep over the sound of the door unlocking and i can just make out the beep on the lock as i walk away.

She said its very faint... it used to be quite loud and i remember looking to see if there was a way to turn it down since the beep would make the dark bark if i was getting home late... guess i got my wish. I highly doubt i lost that range of hearing over the span of 2-3 months lol

maybe the speaker is busted,

That's how mine is you can hear it but not very well, I got a new beep box thing so I'm going to put that in and see if that fixs it.

If you unlock with the remote, you'll never get a beep. If you lock with the remote, you'll only get a beep if press the lock button twice.

You should always get a beep if you unlock with the proximity and lock with the round door button.
Sometimes I get a series of beeps and the car doesn't lock so I have to use the fob to lock. I think it happens when I get out of the car with my fob in my pocket. Happens maybe 20%-30% of the time.

I think because you're using the "walk-away" feature. I didn't even know about that when I got my car! Haven't activated it yet, though.

I'm just so used to pushing the little round black button on the door handle. Plus it gives me more peace of mind to hear all the door locks actuating.

It happens when you have windows open, doors aren't 100% closed, or sometimes (by that I mean oftentimes) your cell phone is interfering with the FOB. If you move your phone, open the door and close it again, it'll lock, so long as there's nothing else tripping it.
