Just wondering what is everyone’s favorite muscle car is. I noticed a lot of posters like mustangs
What manufacturer do you think made the best muscle car. AMC , Chrysler ,ford or GM products
I always liked the 1968- 1970 AMC Amx especially with the gopak 390 of cause. The 1970 - 73 Plymouth 340 duster. There’s a lot more from ford and Gm that I like. What’s your favorite and what do you think was the best muscle car
Neighbor had a mint and super rare (1500 made) AMC Ramble/Scrambler, 390 bored out to 409, in red/white/amc blue color. Same horse as Chevelle SS but 1200lbs lighter.

Thanks Saz. After both kids are out of the house I will be looking for a 1993 Mustang Cobra. My 93 GT was my very first new car and I want to get the best version of that car for my "hobby car"!

Man, this is always such a tough question! I like so many old muscle cars and now with the newer generation of them it’s crazy!

without going into the little details of a “muscle car” (intermediate car with an engine from a larger car, blah, blah, blah) of the newer stuff the Hellcat Challengers are just so stupid crazy I just love them. Actually any 2015 and up Challenger in SRT option or higher is nice. Wanted to get one, wife said no, that’s how I got the Type R. So likes Hondas and so do I. For modern Mustangs are cool too but they don’t have the all out craziness and sloppiness of the Challenger that makes them a bad boy in my book. Harder to tame I guess it just chalk it up to not so great handling, Hahhaha. Camaros are great but I just don’t get a temperature rise from them. Great cars though.

Old school, there so many and as the years go by I can appreciate so many even more. They had so much style and character to them. Sorry, can’t just pick one. ‘69 GTO, ‘69 Camaro Z28/ZL-1, ‘70-‘74 Trans Am or Formula Firebird, Javeline AMX, ‘69 Mustang Mach 1, ‘70 Mustang Boss 302, ‘71 Mustang Mach 1 or Boss 351, ‘70 Plymouth Superbird, ‘71 Plymouth GTX, ‘68 Charger 440, ‘69.5 Dodge Super Bee, ‘70-‘72 Challenger 340-Hemi. 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT 351.

Still have this guy, not really much chance to work on it. Will get it on the road one day...

My favorite is the 70/71 Torino, sort of the forgotten muscle car. This one has a 351 Cleveland and a 9in rear end, the indestructible one. I also like the Mustang even the fox body, this 89 looks like the 79/80 other than some cosmetic changes and EFI so it almost counts as 60–80.

If you like those year Torinos have you seen the Australian Ford Falcon XB cars? It’s the car the black Mad Max Interceptor is based on and has a similar shape to those year Torinos.

Those SVO Mustangs were ahead of their time. They didn’t sell I believe because they were a little more expensive than the Mustang GT But performance wise I believe they were about the same. They actually had a better suspension set up than a GT.

Yes they were more than the GT the 86 SVO had the same horsepower as the GT 200 HP the GT had more torque but the SVO will pass a GT on a twisty road

All great cars.
Owned '68 RoadRunner 383 with the 727 automatic - great family ride. Took her to over 180,000 miles before the Berkshire winters ate her up. New owner stripped her in '86 to do a tribute replica.
All-time favorite (lust-mobile) was '70 Charger 440 6-pack with the 727 automatic.

I agree. I have a thing for the black Mad Max Interceptors so the Falcon XB is always on my mind. At one point in Massachusetts there were at least two of these cars. One was being converted into the Mad Max car and the other was a stock I think 1976 Ford Falcon XB GT 351. Was a little rusty but definitely a cool car.

Yes, unfortunately some British cars weren’t so good. I worked at Acura in the early 90s and the Cousin car of the Acura Legend was the Sterling 800 series cars that were British cars with Acura drivetrain. The electronics were far more primitive than what the late 80’s/90 Legend had. It literally looked like something from the 60s-70s.

I do love the look of many British cars though.

the Jenson cars used Mopar drivetrains and the 440 was a very docile engine that was very dependable. It was a gentle giant but the weight of this big block over the front wheels I’m sure effected handling tremendously.
