I wanted to share my experience with mods so far: PRL DP/FP/intercooler and Stage 1 TSP tune (map 2).

The other day I did a pull on a WRX from a roll. I launched slightly before he did and was able to maintain a 1 to 2 car gap ahead of him. It was only one attempt. I didn't think I would be able to pull that off.

A few days later, another WRX, this time climbing a mountain highway, we were neck and neck a 14 mile climb. No clear winner - there were times where I was ahead, times when he was ahead. He had the advantage of AWD and my brake pads need replacing. Before my turn off he gave me a thumbs up, and I think he was pretty shocked.

Is there anyone here running my setup that have put their car on a dyno? Curious what kind of hp/tq I'm making.

I'm blown away by these mods. If anyone is considering it and doesn't mind losing the stock aspect of their Si, you won't be disappointed.

Why didnt you run map 3?
I've been told the stock clutch can't handle map 3. I drive casually in map 1 and only map 2 for racing.

btw map 3 is a little confusing to me:

Map 2: 19psi normal, 21psi "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II
Map 3: 19psi normal, custom boost level "Sport" mode, Improved Turbocharger Response II

Does this mean unless I do manually settings for map 3 it won't really do anything different than map 2?

Nice man! I wonder how much hp we are making. I'm afraid of breaking my car on a dyno lol

I know in map 3 sport mode I see up to 26 psi at WOT so that's probably the difference described

I don’t think you’re supposed to see 26 in map 3.

I think 25 is a peak for TSP1 map 3, but sometimes it can kick to 26 for a second. Same with a normal mode - 19 is a peak but sometimes you can hit 20

I think Subaru has hampered the power output in the quest for better fuel economy and emissions as reviewers have pointed out the car will constantly pull timing when going wot, its also gotten around 150lb's heavier. Gone is the 4.7 0-60, 13.5 sec 1/4 mile @ 100mph WRX most remember, Motortrend's 2018 WRX review pegged it running a 14.5 sec 1/4 mile @ 94.mph after a 6+ sec run to 60. I'm more liable to be concerned about a Camry or Accord than I am a WRX on the road these days. Hell, I wouldn't hesitate to challenge a 2018+ model from a dig either.

From everything I've read, and my experience, you only need to really worry about that in low rpm high gear situations, running hard up a mountain in 3rd gear would be fine. Attempting to accelerate hard up a mountain, in fourth, may not be.

I think Stock WRX is pulling 220-30 WHP and torque to the wheels? And it weighs about 3-400 lbs more than the SI, so it's not surprising that the SI would pull on a stock one. On the other hand a WRX with FBO, tune and flex makes 350-380WHP and moves like a Rocket.
