Sound system is great in the 10th gen at least for the Si's. I don't know bout everyone here but I love to blast my music on days with good weather all the way up to 40 with the windows down. I don't do this all the time but I do it a decent amount, can our speakers not handle this power?

Blew my speakers a total of 3 times. 2 times it got replaced under warranty and it recently blew again but I'll be getting a 2020 si next month so I decided to stick it out until then. Speakers don't fully blow but I think the subwoofers do as there is a ton of rattling at lower volumes.

Kind of hard to blow the speakers with audio books. I'm past the age of blaring music with the windows down to annoy everyone else on the road.

Personally when it comes to factory audio, I try to not go to the absolute limit of the volume knob because things like this can happen when you play a song with bass heavy enough to push it beyond the limit. So it may be good to maybe go to where you normally like the volume, then go back at least two clicks.

"All the way up" on the volume is still relative. If it's spoken word or news/talk radio; no big deal. If it's a Miami Bass best of compilation; there may be issues.

What's killing your speakers, IMO, are square waves. They occur when the amplifier starts clipping.

So start listening to Yacht Rock or turn it down.

/old man advice : I'm sitting here right now listening to the Tinnitus ringing loud and clear. It's no joke. Just throw a dash of that into the mix when you feel the need for LOUD. You can pay now or pay later.

Good luck with it.

I can't turn mine up past say 25 and is way loud enough. And I'm half deaf from playing stuff way too loud and being in a band.

I'm 34 and between concerts plus heavy industry, i'm already living this life and don't wish to go farther.

Also 15-20 with the windows up (it's moderately cold outside) is plenty loud enough for me. I can't imagine what 40 is like.

I stay around 12 or 13 with audio books and 15 or 16 with music, the few times I have that playing. Any louder than those and I wonder how people pay attention to the road and environment around them. Meanwhile, a buddy of mine has his so loud (in his Celica) that you can hear it down the block. We don't hang out much if he's driving or meeting us with his car.

anything over 25 on my EX-T's I notice some crackling in the bass notes so I usually keep it below that (and yes I also turned down the bass), previous owner had it WAY to high because she wanted bass but never could install a sub.

Personally, I think 40 is way too loud, both for your ears and everyone else's, unless you are parked at a cookout or something.
However, if the speakers can't handle 40 without breaking then Honda probably should not have allowed us to turn the volume that high in the first place.

Level 40 is way overdoing it. Max listening would be a bit above 20. At that you deserve to have your speakers blow out and your hearing will be shot.

Well, maybe they did expect a few to turn it up that high, which is why they screwed with the DSP profiles, to try to limit the damage to the speakers when the amp is turned up that high.

Would have been better to have put in speakers that could handle the max output from the Honda Amp -- but i guess every Dollar Saved counts when keeping the cost down.

The rear speakers on a coupe are like $6 each...I like loud music but if you are blowing speakers. That’s your own fault. Anything above 25 is overkill.

40? Are you kidding me? If 25 isn’t loud enough for you, you’ve got some serious hearing loss... You can buy all the replacement speakers you want, but you can’t buy new ears.

Yes,my normal listening is around 15, 25 was just the loudest I've ever turned it up and it honrstly was way too loud.
