The short 7 step process below
Once in your car, just press the engine start on two times until every things on (ENGINE OFF/ON EITHER WAY)

FOOT ON BRAKE PEDDLE UNTIL SAID OTHERWISE, and make sure your parking brake is off before starting this process.
Follow this, and it will work every time.

1. Parking brake on/off
2. TC OFF/ON
3. Parking brake on/off
4. TC OFF/ON
5. Parking brake on
**FOOT OFF BRAKE PEDDLE **
6. TC OFF/ON
**FOOT ON BRAKE PEDDLE**
7. TC OFF/ON

Then, crank your car if you have not yet.
Again, it isn't necessary for you to crank your car before starting this process.
Lastly, if you mess up any time during these steps. you do not need to turn everything off, just start from STEP 1 at any point. It is just like starting over.
Also, you don't have to wait for the PARKING brake to fully engage/disengage to start the next step. I do this at lights with in 15-20 seconds.

This has helped me keep boost up right after shifting from 1st-2nd in my 2020 Si. My buddy in his 2019 says he can't tell much of a difference.

The "pedal dance" is fairly widely known around here. That said, I'm sure someone will be enlightened.

It also works on the CRV so I guess this procedure is identical across the range of the current gen (all civic variants, CRV, HRV, Accord, etc)

Thanks, Yours is well written. Didn't know you could do it with the engine off.
Others I've seen have added confusion to the process by the way they are written.

Lol I know right? Lol. I figured out that a few of those steps from other videos and post are not necessary to do in order to get this to work.
I will continue to play with it to see if I can shorten the steps any further.

Does anyone else do the pedal dance if someone tries to race? Never knew it was a thing until a week or two ago. Makes a noticeable difference with less wheel spin

Is there some kind of indicator that verifies that its fully off?

The little traction control off icon will be on and the little icon that flashes at you when the traction control is working will stay flashing.

Also works with brake hold on. Just in case you need to do it at an intersection before the light turns green and don’t wanna roll back ;)

That's the glory of all things, You never have to take your foot off of the brake without the E-brake engaged. lol. If you are doing it correctly, all steps require your foot on the brake except step 6. Thats okay though, step 6 is covered with the E-brake on. then you put your foot right back on the brake for step 7.
I will say though, the first day doing this. I did it on a hill. that's a nono when you're not use to doing something like this lol.

I actually just roll with it on while in town. Lol. The ONLY down fall for the 2020's is that all the assist no longer work. It disables them all as far as I can tell. Well except for one, the lane migration warning and shake but that's it.

Damn, I might start doing that then haha. I notice TC limits our power a lot sometimes.
