Just got a 2020 Civic hatchback ex in Sonic Gray for $21,500 sale price and $24,000 OTD. Think I got a unbeatable deal since I live in Bay Area and the taxes and fees were %9.5 and a couple hundred for the doc and gov registration fees.
Yeah I think it surely is. Because I also live in Bay Area and the lowest offer now I have is $24,2xx for the sport cvt trim! And the msrp of EX is $600 more than sport cvt... How did you manage to negotiate that price? And that color! is! the! best!

Yeah man its really tough in the Bay Area the Hatchbacks are selling like hot cakes. Its actually a really ironic story. I spent like 3-4 months emailing and calling and looking for the car as well and finally the lowest offer I got was a 2019 Hatchback Ex for 24,400 which was like 2 hours away. I drove down there and they pulled the classic bait and switch and wanted 500$ more to finance the car and I just straight up left and walked out. This was literally yesterday and I basically gave up looking for the trim model and car and said fuck it ill go to my local dealership and pay whatever price they wanted. Turns out the guy at the dealership was someone I knew and he said he could get me a 2020 Civic Ex in Sonic Grey for 24,000 OTD and it was the last one on the lot. I said hell yes and drove back home in the car. Learned a valuable lesson that its who you know and not what you know. Honestly I just got really lucky but I was planning to spend 25.5k+ before walking into the dealership. A sport cvt trim for $24,200 is not a bad price at all. I was getting offers for a 2020 sport manual trim for $23,400 so that sounds about right.

Sounds like a legend! I wish I had a dealer friend too lol. There’s already some dealers said that they couldn’t beat $24,200... so I guess yes, that car is indeed like hot cake. I may just switch to 2019 model or a used one in this case...
Anyway, congrats on the amazing deal!

I'd like to thank everyone for all their purchasing experiences --been watching for over a year. Just bought my 2020 Hatchback Sport 6 speed in Sonic Gray Pearl for $20500 before tax/license/reg. I felt like this was a decent price based on what I've seen on this forum. I'm in Northern CA.

Nice to see another bay area buyer getting a solid deal :) This gives me more hope I'll hit my budget or below it

Keep searching! I think with it being 2020 the prices are definitely going to drop. I have been looking for a 2020 Civic HB Sport 6 Speed manual in Polished Metal and my god is it a pain in the ass to find. I've been religiously searching for months with one coming up every so often either being over priced or already marked pre-sold. Luckily for me, a buyer flaked out and I was able to hop onto it the next day. Could've gotten it for 23K OTD but they baited me by having the accessories pre-installed before I came in even after stating I DID NOT want them. Ended up leaving the dealership paying 23.6 OTD with the accessories. Located in the bay area but drove out an hour and a half for the car. Worth it in my opinion as all the dealers in the bay area wanted 24.2 - 24.5K OTD for a Sport Hatchback 6 speedmanual.

Welp Ladies and Gents. Thank you for all of the tips. I managed to get out of the dealership paying just under $32k out the door for the Sport Touring model in Sonic Gray, with 10 year extended warranty and 4 years of Honda care. I didnt get the best deal but I did get everything I wanted as well as some additional warranty coverage :)

but it was a shame that they didnt really budge too much on the warranty price but they did at least bump it to 10 years.

Went with no accessories as I would prefer to make it a project with my buddy for future mods like footwell lighting and maybe a wing but I'm not really sold on the concept of a bigger wing yet.

Anyway hopefully the next buyer gets a better deal on the warranty stuff. I'm happy with my payments at least :)

Discounted Honda extended warranties can be purchased from places other than the dealer you purchase the car from. One of the better places is Saccucci Honda, and I believe Bernardi is another.

After getting quoted for insurance today I'm no longer upset about the warranty pricing because each insurer wanted close to or above $2400 a year. So the warranty was damn cheap in comparison
