Would it be bad to put a rear window roof visor spoiler?

OK, let me chime in here again. I actually have purchased two different sedan rear spoilers. The HIC and the one from Ikon. After installing both, I removed them both. As much as I wanted to like them, as aldo said, they don't play well with the lines of the sedan.

They look OK from the rear and side view but from the front and other angles they look "odd". Like it's just stuck on there. Close but no cigar for me.

Ever notice no one ever takes pics of these from the front 3/4 view?

It’s an old design term used by vehicle manufacturers, look it up, it doesn’t refer to lines of coke or meth.
Well since you're such an expert why don't you insight us?

Thank you for at least posting a real explanation! That makes a lot of sense now.

OK guys, here's a visual of what I mean. This is only my opinion and if you love the roof spoilers on the sedan, that's great.

Here's the smooth fastback rear of the sedan with no roof spoiler:

Here's where I think the roof spoiler takes away from the lines of the sedan:

Yeah I see what you're talkin about it's not exactly flush. Too bad the stock Honda hatchback rear window spoiler can't be put on. Great lot man

Aerodynamically speaking roof spoilers are not all that great, you don’t want flow separating up high like that. It’s really just adding extra drag for no good reason because the air leaves the shape of the car too early and too high. What would benefit aero is vortex generators (think Mitsubishi evo) to promote the flow remaining attached.

That said, for a street driven car not looking for an extra 10th of a second lap time, this is hair splitting. The practical difference in performance is essentially negligible, so pick whatever you think looks nice. I think that Icon spoiler looks killer from the back. Myself I will probably just get some stick on vortex generators and call it a day.

Hey I just noticed that trunk spoiler extension, which one is it? It's definitely not BMSpec and I just looked on the Perrin website thinking maybe the answer was obvious... :hmm:

What's your opinion on the OEM spoilers? Coupe/sedan?

Thanx I was wondering how this 1 looked on the sedan. Do you happen to have any other angles that you wouldn't mind posting?
