I have had a oil leak above th oil filter since the car was new. I have been to the dealer 4+ times so have various leaks fixed

2x times to fix a seal on the upper side by the battery
1x times to fix the valve cover gasket
1x times to inspect the gasket again, and they said there was no leak and I was complaining

To this day the oil pan looks as it does in the pictures. When you wipe your finger along it there is clean oil, not old dirty oil. What would you do at this point? I have a case open with Honda corporate.

The car is a 2017 with 31k on it now. It has been leaking since day one.

Dude, that’s nothing.
If you want to see oil leaks, you have to look under a German car.
Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to have them continue to work on it. Yes this SI is a POS and probably my last

If anyone has ever dealt with Honda corporate you know they are heartless and dont really care, so it is double frustrating.

Sry to hear about ur oil leak. Check if you double gasketed the oil filter. If that's not it, has the filter ever been over tighten or have you ever scrapped ur oil pan before? These cast aluminum oil pans are quite simple to crack. Imo what you should do is shampoo the whole engine bay get a special diode, put that in with the oil that shows colors when flashed by a UV light. And anywhere that the colour shows is where most of the time the oil leak starts from. Just my piece of the pie.

I have this issue too. Not sure where the oil is coming from. Not losing any measurable amount of oil but my pan looks like it's sweating oil lol. It's not coming from the oil drain bolt or the oil filter. The drain plug and the washer are clean and the filter is dry.

Just be glad it's all documented at Honda so if something happens you can pull it all out and they have to repair it.

I'd say just keep going back till they fix it. That is what I am doing. Dealership and I now don't have a very good opinion of each other. Low quality control, SMH. I'd have thought they could assemble these things better but its not like the Honda of the old days.

Just took a closer look at the side of my block and it seems to be covered oily dirt. Guess there's a leak on that side of the motor. No idea where it starts because that area in front of the alternator is very tight so it's hard to see. This explains my oil pan being lightly covered in oil as seen in that video above.

Will try to get a better look soon and then see what Honda has to say. This is very disappointing.

Check your window sticker if you have it and see where your engine was built. I looked at mine on my new 20 and it was Japan for the motor and USA for the trans.

Got a borescope to try to get pics of the oil soaked side of my engine but man is this thing hard to use in such a tight area. Here are some pics. It's all the towards the front right side of the car (from the driver's seat perspective)

I've got a similar leak that is either coming from the front main seal or the inspection cover.

I was thinking about picking up a tube of Honda bond and removing and resealing the inspection cover to see if it goes away. The dealer hasn't touched my car yet and if I can help it, they never will....

........until my AC fails.

I was having a much more severe leak, but I was also slightly overfilling my oil with around 4 quarts instead of 3.7. I drained maybe 1/4-1/3 quart out so the oil level reads between the dots on the dipstick and it's leaking far slower but still leaking.
