If it's reasonably priced I may be trading in my 19 for this. I don't mind paying a little over MSRP for something this limited.

I'm sorry, but how can the 'Ultimate track edition' that has purported aim to shed weight - leave the Honda sensing system in there.

lol come on now.
They basically have to do that because their while advertising scheme is that Civics come standard with sensing...it's all politics

Sigh, if that Sport Type R would have come to North America (Canada specifically) that would have been right at the top of my list, especially if it came in Boost Blue. Looks sharp.

Not that the GT Type R doesn't, but I'm still not 100% sold on that wing spoiler. It's growing on me the more I look at it but having the Sport Model with 19 inch wheels would have been perfect.
You can simply replace yourself the wing spoiler with the small one. Part cost will be offset by selling the old one.
It's not that you need advanced engineering knowledge to do that. :)

Telling you that until someone comes in wanting it at all cost will to pay 10k over to have it and put half down. Cash always talks at dealerships. Good luck tho
This is true. That is exactly what I did when the R first came to so cal in June 17’. Paid the car in full with a 10k markup. Immediately jumping from the bottom of the “list” to the top. Dealership was very anxious to sell on the spot no question asked. As much as I would like to do the same buying method for the Phoenix yellow one. With only 600 units available and over 1k Honda dealerships spread all over the US. I can see this variant fetching for $60k+ easy in So Cal. Too rich for my blood.

Spoke with my dealer today and he said the price on the limited here in Canada is going to be $45k. That’s Canadian. I can see the $42k USD bring the price for the folks in the states. Going to get some pricing on what the difference would be if I traded in my 2018 tomorrow.
I highly doubt the dealer in Canada knows the MSRP yet. The 2020 Type R MSRP is $45,476. I wouldn’t be surprised if the 2021 is around $50k.

Also makes me feel good that I paid $39,338 for my 2018.

Wtf lol no way
Thats what I said. But the salesman mentioned that You Tubers tend to pay double the cars value because they can make more than what they paid for the car within the first month.

Basically all 600 will be sold to some You Tuber or social media “star”

You know, some of the 40,000 "regular" Type R owners would probably pay a hefty sum for these. Helps to offset the cost of a nice set lighter 18" wheels.
Not me.....why bother with 20" wheels even if forged when they will just get damaged. I've scraped up my OEM wheels just changing lanes on the roads here in Houston. Ever since going to 18" wheels, it hasn't been an issue. 20" is just too aggressive for normal roads......and lots of people have had issues with bending the frames due to how thin the tires are, too. Granted, they do call it a track car......hahaha

I guess they don't want you to rear end the guy in front of you on the track while you are attempting to draft him? I hate these automated systems......I once rented a Ford that had it. Driving on a two lane highway......the thing kept fighting me when I passed cars. It just kept wanting to drive into oncoming cars when I was trying to get back to the right side of the road.

If Limited edition is more by 10K - like 45 or up, it will be completely not worth it (unless your plan is to stash it save it for a new owner 10 years from now and hope to earn some $$$ after inflation). For true enthusiast who daily drive fun cars, get 2020 Type r and wrap it with phoenix yellow - here you go, your limited type R :)

Like someone said, Honda should have removed the back seats, charged more for the privilege while saving themselves money. They should have also thrown in a roll cage and should have massively ramped up the spring and damper rates to backbreaking levels. They will end up selling every single one of them anyway, so why not go all out?

Not intrinsically worth it compared to the standard car. However if it was my only car and just for me I would be interested in it for the reduced weight and rarity and knowing that that rarity would probably make it hold its premium pretty well. I don't understand why on car forums so many people want to judge how much other people are prepared to pay for something rather than just discussing driving experiences and technical aspects.

Maybe to capture the market of those who would like a Megane Trophy R but need four seats.

Lol, last car I bought was cash. Extremely easy process, very fast. Dealer was even willing to knock off some bogus fees when we told him we were paying cash. I already hate the fact they are producing different lines of the car Sport line, GT, Track Edition BS. Type R should be Type R. It should be done proper once and no updates or refresh. Run it, then stop. Wait a few years or so then do it all over. Then improve on what you didn’t do the first time around. I know with the advent of social media business practices have drastically changed giving Corps huge feedback in real time and lots of times forcing them to change. I get it, nobody wants to be constantly flamed for their fake vents, huge wings or questionable factory rotors or etc...but these things could have been fixed before the initial launch, but some clown decided it wasn’t a big deal. Let’s “withhold features so we can have a selling point for the future of the brand.” The type R always felt more to me because of that history. Now it’s become a standard (but not so standard) run of the mill (really good performance car) the number plates don’t mean anything either. These sub models should be a clear indicator that Honda has no desire to quit pumping these babies out. Why go thru all that trouble in the first place if that was the case. Im glad I
We/some of us are paying huge amounts for exclusivity for a car that probably won’t be exclusive. They will probably just continue make them when it’s 11th or 12th gen civic anyways. Then how will you really feel about your limited Edition Type R seeing as some people who have the 2019 talking about trading or selling to get their hands on 2021 track edition that will probably never see a track. Honda executives tricked people (playing on our human nature and psychology) with this BS the first time around. As one of our previous presidents from Texas once said “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...well, you can fool me once, you cant fool me again”
Not sure why your bitter about the fk8 not being an exclusive model or limited model? Appreciate you've not had the ep3 or fn2 or fk2 etc, but the FK8 was announced as a 'world car' and would be produced in mass numbers globally (despite the number plaque). Why would they stop now? Of course Honda are gonna listen and improve, and there will always be another, and then another....rest of world have been used to it since the ek9
