Well something else to think about on the yellow one. 1200 plus honda dealers in the USA and only 600 getting one. Then how many are the owners or employees gonna buy in order to flip? And then on top of that good luck finding one that hasn't been "Test Driven" by the employees... rare color and package, all sound proofing removed on an already noisy car, the mark ups that will come.... yeah good luck. plus its yellow... yack. they only made 600 cause thats about how many people still own yellow cars. I live in a smaller city of 550k people I dont think ive seen a yellow car in years. There was a local dealer had a yellow car (not honda) that thing sat there 3 years. Last time i saw it I think it was marked down to 7k below msrp that was 6 months ago...i think they were gonna end up sending it to auction..

Am i the only that feels they should offer the better radiator to all its previous type R buyers at a reduced cost? I mean its preventing people from enjoying there cars on track as is. If its clearly a problem since they addressed it they should do something for the previous model year owners since most of them are still under warranty even.

That's not how Honda works. That's not how any manufacturer works, for that matter.

Ok since the 2020 isn't out yet how do you know the price gouging isn't coming? You think a new color with new features for a dealer to sell they aren't going to try for top dollar? Let alone an a limited edition to 600 units with other features unique to it are going to sell for sticker? My post literally says to pick up a 2019 for a deal now. I don't want black or Sonic Grey either, so what's your point and why are you still shopping for CTRs if you own a 2019 PMM? Read peoples posts before posting nonsense replies.
I changed my mind and didn't buy the 2019 - opted for the 2020 at MSRP. 2019s can be had for 1-2K under MSRP. Had two dealers offer them to me.

Unfortunately here in the Bay Area it was hard finding the FK8 at MSRP. Dealers were asking $12k-15k above MSRP.

I paid $4.5k above MSRP. ($5K was my limit).

So we will be seeing these Yellow FK8 at least at $60K here in the Bay Area...

*See attached. This was for a 2019 model in San Jose just a few days ago.

that why its still there. this car isn't limited production.

Must be nice. In the Bay Area they are quite expensive and way above MSRP. The issue is people are actually paying the $10k+ mark up.

That is actually exactly how TSB's work. They recognize a problem that is not a safety/accident issue (or itd be a recall) and update the Troublesome part, which under most peoples cases would fall under their current warranty. Hell theres a tsb for the new camry to replace a gloss black trim piece because it reflects in the window and can be distracting.

But this isn't a TSB issue. There is no safety concern. There is no daily drivability concern. This is still a street car. Honda has options if you want a true race car, though they aren't cheap.

I have never seen Honda discount parts for buyers that have an older model, to put new parts on, even.

I understand the desire, but all I'm saying is don't hold your breath expecting it to happen.

Will never become a TSB in a million years. Car only overheats at the track. Even then you can still drive it perfectly fine without having it be a "safety issue"

yea i am not counting on it....obviously. But to be fair Honda has marketed this car and its herritage of the R brand to be a car you can take to the track and daily it. And so far as track duty in most cases it is running to hot. But yea i know i doubt they will do anything and the diy to swap the radiator is actually quite involved not like the old civic days.

You still can only build the 2019 CTR on the Honda US website the 2020 isn't even listed. It's hard to believe dealerships will be seeing them 2/28 as the original post mentions.

Pic from today at a local dealership in my area:

What the f is "LOA" and "Polysteel". I guess the first one is ADM, no clue on what the second one is... probably not worth $1200 though

I owned a 370z that car was notorious for engine oil overheating issues. In fact just driving in traffic for 30 minutes would spike the oil temp to 300 degrees. Any track time it would see 350+ and engine would go into limp mode. Nissan never did anything to fix it and people ended up getting oil coolers. So CTR aint that bad in the grand scheme of things.
