Because of the meth. To account for the added fuel, value needed to be removed from the MAF scale, which skews the reported airflow/cylinder fill.

One of many reasons why meth injection shouldn't really be used with the stock ECU. There is no good way to use it properly, especially when spraying large amounts.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a good way to get more fuel in with the stock ECU. PRL seemed to throw the towel in on that.

Is the AEM EMS4 paired with a port injection system able to get around this? Or would you still have to lie to the ECU, in a sense.

Yep, still requires lying to the ECU in some shape/form.

Boost is not being controlled by the ECU. His is an old kit that uses a mechanical, pneumatic wastegate with external control.
Fixing this soon  the cortex is great but it would be nice for the car to control the turbo vs the other way around.

Well dam. Someone needs to develop a new HPFP and direct injectors.

From someone who doesnt know chit about this, any concern after the teardown about carbon buildup on the valves? Does meth injection reduce carbon buildup?

The valves actually looked nice and clean, meth injection is known to help clean things. Just like port injection helps clean the valves.

Tho for all we know it reduced cylinder count buildup as well

Sorry forgot about that. Sometimes I forget what questions I have already asked. Im a little too detail oriented.
Nothing wrong with that! I try to throw up as much relevant info as I can think of.

Well here's a quick teardown of my blown motor :coffee:

And some history of my build!

https://www.civicx.com/threads/dyno-graph-now-up-snow-performance-water-methanol-injection.23368/

https://www.civicx.com/threads/motor-blew-prl-turbo-kit-with-meth-injection.36470/

Let it be known this motor was pushed and abused. 34 psi from a gtx2860r and E35+meth injection

for a quick look

for a disassembled look.
When the rod snaps at the wrist pin and rips off the oil squirter, it's safe to remove the quotation marks from "Blown" in your subject line. ;) Sorry for the loss. That's a few thousands dollars taking a dirt nap.

You make a good point xD. I'm either selling the head as is or keeping it as a core for a build. The rest is junk in my mind. I have a set of injectors as well.

Maybe think of what I was saying a couple days ago.. You have Si, no engine.. Put a K20 in it and make it a Type R. ;)

This car is already back on the street. Looking forward to seeing what comes next from the build.

@360glitch is correct. I'm already up and running. The motor teardown was just very late.

Built block and ready to go! Fingers crossed the spring dyno session pulls some good numbers
