So a quick backstory, I've had multiple Honda's (over 10 if you including motorcycles) since 2004.
My first Si was a silver FA5 which I loved. Had it for 2 years before it was totaled in an icy encounter with a utility pole.

A year ago this month, I randomly decided to go test drive the new Si. I didn't WANT a coupe initially but the rear vents on the sedan make me wanna vomit LOL. That's my opinion tho....sorry, not sorry. The coupe just looks better.:dunno:

So I worked for the Honda dealership where I bought it from, plus the sales mgr there has been a good friend for almost 14 years now.....so naturally I got a great deal. Plus it was considered a MY18 "leftover" which landed there in July 18 and sat on one of their raised lifts out of the way in their overflow basement, until I bought it in Feb 2019. The car had 0000005 on the odometer as shown in some of my very first pics here.

Right away, getting right seating position was a problem for me. I feel like it took a few weeks to find that sweet spot for my height and weight etc. Been fine ever since. Then I started buying a few things I felt I needed. Like a S2 shift knob, HID headlights, and an auto-dimming mirror. Nothing crazy.

So after a year, here are my pros and cons list:

PRO's:
-In my opinion it handles great in stock form.
-Power is enough for me since its only my DD.
-The seats are very supportive and comfortable.
-I love some of the features like apple carplay and the walk-away locking.
-I love the way it looks in stock form.
-Very happy with the MPG's!
-Best looking wheels on any Si yet.

CON's:
-My first choice was silver.
-Scared of modding due to weak stock clutch.
-I wish I had a volume knob.
-I wish I had sensing.
-I wish I had them fancy headlights
(Guess I should've waited for 2020 huh?)
-Shifter is a bit notchy (still gotta put the good tranny fluid in lol)
-Tires are LOUD
-Why the chrome around the doors?
-Brakes are ok for DD, but wish the SI had Brembos. (or at least a factory option under warranty)

Overall, I really like the car, but after this lease is up in 2 more years, I may just go back to a comfy Accord...

Your first choice was silver. What color did you settle for?
Think you'll get a manual Accord if you trade the Si?

Any major rattles that couldn't be fixed?

I went with Rallye Red since it was their last 2018 couple in their inventory and I wanted the lower payment at the time.

And tbh, I'm getting older and probably won't buy another manual car again. (unless I hit the lotto and its a weekend toy...)

Really nice to see an opinion after a year. Just picked up my 2020 Si Sedan and I'm loving it so far. Pretty much has everything you have on your con list.I'm hoping the con list doesn't ever grow for me. Right now my only gripe is I HATE the electronic parking brake and I never use the brake hold function so it is kind of wasted on me.

I would just say to you guys, enjoy the car. Don't concentrate on the negatives. Think of it this way, it's an entry level performance car that is economical, but still fun. It has it's flaws, but so does every car. As long as you don't abuse it, it will keep going for years trouble free. Some people bought it because it's there first car and they wanted something fun they could afford. Others more established bought it because they wanted a daily driver that is fun and economical, and driving that GTO or C7 to work everyday was getting expensive. When you have driven it for 5 or 10 years and are ready to move on, you will either pass it on to your kids (or family members) or trade it in for something higher end, or you might even end up in a Camry, Accord or God forbid...a minivan!

Love it but sometimes it doesn't work and I get the fast 3-4 beeps.
It's a nice feature, but kind of a pain when you have a garage. If I need to get something out of my car, I invariably don't have my keys on me and the car ends up being locked. I know, I know... first world problems.

And God Knows if you have a garage and live in PA, it's gonna be damned well parked in the garage in the winter!

Oh man, that's when you need a manual car. Keep working those hip joints! :p
