I threw an emissions CEL with my Catted RV6 DP and the included defouler within 100 miles of install. Is that... normal? I thought that the Catted DP wasn't supposed to do that, especially with a defouler.
that is strange...but most of us are already running flashpro or ktuner to avoid that. I'd recommend getting one of those anyway since you're running at least that downpipe

It is always possible to get a CEL. Did you pull the battery to reset the emissions trims after the install? Try that, if you are still getting the code, let me know what code it is and I will tell you which way to adjust defouler.

Thanks. I was thinking that the trims would adjust dynamically, but I'll pull the negative terminal off for 15 mins this afternoon to be safe.

That sucks. Too bad there isn’t an aftermarket high flow cat solution to pass inspection readiness monitors that isn’t illegal - in my extremely controlling state.
im in california. i'm sure it not much better down here lol.

In PA we have a mechanism that auto adopts CA’s emissions laws.

Many in PA probably don’t know that.

“...Pennsylvania Clean Vehicles Program was implemented which adopted by reference certain provisions of the California Low Emission Vehicle Program in order to address emissions from mobile sources in Pennsylvania...”

The only difference is we have 93 octane everywhere. Some boroughs or towns do have exhaust noise restrictions. You’ll sometimes see “no motorbikes” or “no brake retarding” signs on streets round here. The further out into the burbs or woods you get the less they care about the noise.

i hate to be the guy that didn't search properly, but i am about to put an RV6 catted downpipe on my HKS spec-L. Would I need a tune, or I can run without it?

Also, has anyone done the same setup? Was wondering if it would be better if I got a frontpipe to go along as well, cause the HKS spec-L is a 2.5inch catback.

A defouler will work most of the time. What people generally do is disable the monitor during regular driving with Ktuner/Hondata. When test time comes around they enable it again and baby it to the test.

No tune is needed. You might get a CEL, however this can usually be tuned away by adjusting the defouler.

Received mine today in the mail. @RV6, the packaging was absolutely overkill :). I think it could have been dropped from an airplane to my house and it would have been fine. Great packaging really, none should be getting delivered damaged. Do people generally keep the defouler installed regardless if they need it or not?

I can't seem to get the CEL to go off. I plugged in my KTuner v1.2, hooked it up to my laptop, brought up the Error Codes window, and hit "Update". No codes come up though. Does anyone have any recommendations?
